Yes, the game is autosaving when you see red cube in right buttom corner. There is no manual load/save function.

Right, but the problem is that I loaded the game but it wouldn't let me continue where I left off, forcing me to restart the game.

I have the same issue. Does anyone know where Fez stores the actual save files? It'd be useful to back it up. I've played through over halfway two times now before a bug rendered my saves unloadable. This last time I was at 77%. :/

I've considered copying the entire game folder and overwriting it if the issue happens again. I haven't tested that to see if it works though.

It's at %APPDATA%\Fez and it also contains a backup of each savegame :)

However, I also figured out that if I use Fez's in game Copy Save Slot menu option and move a glitched save into another (I used an empty) slot, it loads again! I'm not sure if it would work for everyone, but it's worth a shot, right? I'm super excited again! I love this game!

I also found that in the original version (I haven't tried it with the patched one) you sometimes couldn't progress past the "select savegame" screen if you pressed a button while the FEZ animation was running. Took me a while to figure that one out, since it only occurred after the knowledge-crashes, and it seemed logical that the crash had corrupted my savegame. But it was really just me being less patient after a crash and hammering on my gamepad :)

Oh ok, so I technically don't even have to go folder hopping. Sweet!

I'll also have to install the patch, but it's good to know that there is a simple workaround.
