I just started playing F.E.A.R, or try to atleast.

After about 2 or 3 minutes the screen freezes. However, the game continues in the background. If I press ESC I hear the menu come up and I can see the mouse, however, nothing else works. It freezes both in game and in the main menu given enough time. The only thing that fixes it is alt tabbing out and then back in again

Anyone come up to a similar problem?

Specs:

Intel Xeon X5670
Huanan X58 mobo
Palit GeForce 1080
16gb ram
JapanNext 55inch 4k monitor

Yep same problem here, except alt-tabbing won't work for me

Stop using quicksaves by pressing F5 key , instead manually save the game by pausing and then saving , quicksaving causes freezes , just do manual save and the game will not crash anymore

You could also try installing that unofficial fix that's supposed to solve the problem of slow down due to a glitch with logitech mice on Windows after XP. Maybe it's related.
