The inclusion of CD images in this release leads me to wonder if this is the original retail version? Or have they somehow patched the images? Can anyone reveal which version the game is at?
Also, there was originally a 64bit patch for FarCry. Is that included, or can the original 64bit patch be applied to the GOG version?

I'm also curious as to whether or not this has fixed the issues present in the steam version.. being unable to load it up at full settings sucks a gigantic dick, especially when you can load FC2 up at full settings.. I'm also curious as to whether or not you have to register with ubisoft to go online.. I know that the way the steam version works, it's set to type in your CDkey for online multiplayer.. is this the same for GOG.com's version?
Because if so, did they fix the bug that opened fifty six billion tabs in firefox?
Hi there
The game was fully tested on 64bit Vista, so I can assume it's working fine with that system :) Game is patched to latest official patch which is 1.4.
Regarding CD-Key, it's like with other ours games - if you need cdkey for multiplayer game, just drop an email to our support team, and they will provide you with a fresh one. So don;t hesitate to ask them.
As for super-duper settings, I was playing FC on my machine (gf 8700) and setting it to highest possible quality caused no problems, buy it's up to your machine and drivers if that will be possible.
Best

Do you recommend any specific older forceware driver for those with older 6 and 7 lines of geforce cards? Since I dont think my card is running at its best with the very latest forceware releases.
I recall reading about the latest official version of FC having issues in that cover didn't work anymore. So AI saw you, even in buildings.
Is 1.4 the patch that causes that?

I seem to be able to hide in buildings fine, same for long grass & bushes

I haven't had any troubles with this version of the game either, the AI isn't throwing potshots through rocks or anything at me. :)
I guess I'll make the gamble and get this version too, but I swear if it's bum I'm never ever buying another GOG.com game without making absolutely effin' sure it works!

As I said in some other thread I'm too lazy to search for, I'm running it on maximum settings on a fairly crappy laptop GPU so unless you're running a GMA950 or something lame like that, you should be fine.

I have the steam version and I was running it on my 4650 hd ati card.. and I had the problems I outlined.
the steam version sucks ass. I got it on steam only because I otherwise wouldn't play it, and that was a sweet deal ( I otherwise also wouldn't play dark Messiah or that plane game.. which I think I still won't play..), and I was really pissed because it was broken.I looked on the forums and the only solution was to wait the initial load time out.. and pretty much, fuck that.
If the GOG.com version suffers no problems then sign me up.
Well my load time is not lightning fast but its not substantially longer than any other game and I'm running it off a 5400rpm lappy HDD
If you've got a joystick, you should give IL2 a shot. With most of the realism settings turned down, its almost an aerial FPS

I forgot to answer this part, I'm running it flawlessly on 64bit vista ultimate &did nothing but install the GOG version of the game so I'd say the patch is there

You can adjust the realism? And to think I avoided that game because I thought it looked too serious and complicated! I'm off to buy it now. I want to break out my Saitek X52 again.

Okay, because the retail version I have shows huge chunks of the ground as simply black. No textures, nothing, just black.
Well, since the GOG employees don't have rep, I think you should have credit for it, for reporting the game functioning on Vista 64bit.
I'll buy it one of these days, I think.
