bleubleubleu: Is it ok to run Far Cry on my notebook (1.6 GHZ processor and GeForce GO 7400) ?
I mean, will it actually looks like the screenshots ?

Your notebook sounds fairly similar to mine, I've got a Core2 Duo 1.66GHz and a Geforce GO 7600 and its running it at full settings with 2x antialiasing on 1440x900 resolution.
SO much nicer than when I tried a mate's copy of the game on release with my old geforce 4, polygons torn up all over and virtually no textures, never has the caribbean looked so surreal
Ill be definitely buying it if besides multiplayer works great, the Cry Editor works too. I read about many errors in Cry editor which made the application crash often. Has it been corrected in this release, or does GOG not concerned with editing tools?

bleubleubleu: You could try the demo first ...
No, It's not online anymore. I'll just trust GOG (1.4 recomended). Thanks Harzzach.

Of course it is.
I got this game off Newegg for $10. It isn't what I expected, but it is a pretty good game. The game is hard on normal. I'm good at FPS, but not Far Cry, I die about 10 times per level. This game is very tough and not what I'm used to. I might get back to beat it some day, but it gets frustrating and I hate using cheats.

Sorry for replaying to a comment so old, but I know that texture mess-up you are talking about here. I bought it recently on a Sold-Out budget re-release (though I may end up getting it from GOG to get it DRM-free). Having installed it from the DVD I went in to play. The intro movie was fine and then I start the game and it's nearly all black. Very close up texture showed slightly and the character showed up, but other than a bit of blue water it was all black.
Did a bit of searching around and I found out that the original unpatched release had issues with nVidia cards causing textures to display incorrectly or not at all. There is an official patch released (which was present on the Sold-Out disc when I had a dig around on it) which fixes it and turns on extra options which it couldn't use before. Running it after applying the patch made it look great.
It is possible to get the 64-bit patch to work with Intel CPUs, too, even though it was designed for AMD ones. However, I've not tried that.
As GOG apply the latest official patches this would account for why the textures are working, but I wouldn't expect the 64-bit patch to be applied as that wouldn't work for other 32-bit users.
