So guys, here's the deal:
Been playing Far Cry 2, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. I have at a certain stage come across the type of character build I love using the most, and that would be "the quiet dude". So naturally, when I saw that having Silenced Makarov, Silenced MP5 and a Dart Rifle were available for that kind of build, I went for it without hesitation.

The problem, however, arose when I switched to my newly bought Silenced MP5 as some kind of ugly boulder looking like thing creeped up on my lower left corner of the screen. At first I thought it was a glass shard that got stuck into my body because of a previous close encounter with some glass and a grenade that I suffered, but I soon got over that notion and decided that it was probably leftovers from Fallout's radiation, and my character was simply blessed with a Quasimodo style shoulder...

Is there anything that can be done for that monstrosity to be cast into utter darkness forever, or has it without intention on my part become my new best buddy - the forever edition?

Cheers guys, and thanks for any and all help! :D

This is 100% related to FOV.

Are you using a mod?

If you're using Multi-Fixer, which you should be, set the FOV a little lower. Default with that program is 90, and it's too high, IMO.

I'd say go 85 at the highest.

If you're playing a mod like Redux or Vanilla +, choosing a female character will also eliminate this bug, even at higher FOVs.

Hey BigTinz,

thanks for your fast reply. I'm not using any mods. The game itself is not modified, I downloaded the offline installers and installed it that way, and later on installed GOG Galaxy. I never even heard that there were any mods for this game.

Guess I'll just have to live with it. :)
