SimonG: Yeah, call your friend and family to tell them they won't hear from you for the next three or four days ... ;)

And give my regards to Harold!
hahaha I'll be sure to do that :P

Not sure I want to know who Harold is though, might be better to find out by playing it.

Tyler62092: Good to know, for if I ever get it working with DOSBox. I might have more trouble since I'm using Vista.

I got Fallout 1 today, is there anything I should do to prepare myself for when I finally play it?
Like, mental preparation or something? haha
You don't need DOSBox for Wasteland (on XP anyway). It runs just fine using the .exe.

And as for FO1 prep, I would watch "The Road Warrior" and "A Boy and His Dog". And then, as SimonG says, contact your loved ones and inform them that you'll be incommunicado for a while.

I'll make sure to get a copy of XP from somewhere when I get the chance to build a computer. It really is my favorite out of the three latest anyway.

I tried watching A Boy and His Dog, twice, but just couldn't care for it.
Mad Max is fantastic though.

Have you watched that post apocalyptic fim with George Peppard and the guy who was in Airwolf? They drive a battle-wagon kinda thing and fight Radscorpions!

Got no idea what it was called though...lol

"Damnatin Alley"--based on a short story & novel by Roger Zelazny. I've read the short story, which is very good, and seen the movie. I'll just say that it renewed my cochroach phobia. I'd recommend "Damnation Alley", too!

I understand "A Boy and His Dog", it's pretty low budget, but it's Harlan Ellison, man!

hah I remember seeing Damnation Alley when looking through the wikipedia List of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction which has been really helpful in finding that stuff.
I didn't really get that interested in Damnation Alley though, it looked lame.
I'd give it a chance if I could watch it with friends or something but I don't care enough to watch it alone, same with A Boy and His Dog.
Wasteland is so fantastic. I really loved the fact that it incorporates using the manual to get more details about the area around you. The game is tough as hell but it's very much worth slogging through.

That sounds like a cool way to play it, but not so great when it's old and the manual is probably as hard to find as the game itself.

Yes. This is why I'm not playing it now. Lost my Interplay Anniversary collection a good 10+ years ago and never replaced it : /

ah! I hate when that happens!
Replacement Docs has fairly decent copies of the manual and paragraphs for download:

Not perfect quality but it works. :D

Awesome! I'd prefer a paper copy, but this will do.
Now, for GOG to bring it here....
Fucking mother fucker.

hahah, there was a spambot post and it made me angry to be in my topic.
