I'd also like to extend my gratitude towards the people who run gog, and towards whatever publisher allowed this show of generosity to happen; it is not often that we get free stuff! =D

I also want to thank you, GOG. I already have a disc copy (Fallout Collection) but this one runs perfectly, while that one does not. The only game on the disc that runs without wonky graphics is Tactics, so I'll likely be picking up Fallout II here as well.
Welcome to the community. You will find GOG does this sometimes, and they have sales at other times. There are so many great classics, such as Ultima I-VII, Wing Commander I-IV, Planescape, The Baldur's Gate series, and many others here, so enjoy!

Heck, Zap brings to mind that Ultima IV, a game nearly as old as I am, is also free here. It maintains a fresh stance on what an RPG can be even today. Your enemy is evil in the abstract, not the specific, and your weapon is goodness in the abstract, not in the specific.
But hey, Fallout is still my favorite, so for goodness sakes enjoy it. :)

I first purchased Fallout as a New Release all those yeras ago and I have taken meticulous care of that disc for over a decade. I don't get a free backup copy of The Witcher 2 like some other people, but I get a free backup for Fallout, which is many magnatudes better in my eyes.

oh wait, i got it for free when i bought fallout 2 in some promotion

I got it in a Fallout 1 & 2 collection from my mother, Christmas of 2000. My disks work, but I bought them on GOG because I hadn't been handling them quite as delicately, and occasionally (when I wanted them) couldn't even find them. I decided I was never going to have that problem again!
