I'm sooooo close to finishing this game, and I can't drop that yellow force field that leads to the VAT room.

I've got the little device that drops it, and I've tried to blow it up, but nothing......I AM running FIXT with this and playing on STEAM as well.

Or if anyone has a save I can use that loads up right before this, that would be great too!

Thanks!!
Try observing the emitter that projects the force field.
I did that, I ended up having to press 8 on the keyboard to even get the repair thing to show up.

Now the next problem is when I blow up the Mutant Base I get back to the world screen and the game crashes. I've loaded several older games, and the exact same thing happens.

I re-installed Fallout and the game then decides to not load any of the old backed up games.

I'm at a loss....I'm so close I can taste it and I'd rather not invest another 23 hours into it.

Happen to have a save game handy I can try?

Can't help, but I'll add there's actually two end bases, the mutant base and the other one.
They can be tackled in any order, but you'd possibly still have a couple of hours to go... :(

If you're talking about the Cathedral, that part is done already.

I *did* manage to find a save game right at the end and used it....it worked. However the person must have been a chump to people when playing because every town was overrun, Gizmo was in charge and the Raiders were having some fun. LOL.

Went to YouTube, watched the ending that I think I would've gotten LOL.

Traditionally, cut scenes were designed to be the reward the player earns for completing content. Viewing a cut scene was a indication that the player is progressing.

Here's hoping that taking a peek on YouTube to see how the game ends instead of completing the game on your own was worth it!

:)

Considering the only thing I had left to do was walk out of the Mutant Base, yeah, it was LOL. I had absolutely ZERO game play left.

Wow. Sorry you had this problem, but at least you got all the way to the very end before it happened.
Sacrifice Dogmeat to the forcefields
