I want to get FO3 and NV the next time they're on sale but I can't decide whether Steam or GOG. Does anyone know if the GOG versions are as moddable? With VtMB they make it DRM free and they update it to be more compatible with modern computers, which is nice. But then they also want it to be workable out of the gate so they apply the unofficial patch to the base download making it incompatible with older mods that have their own version of the unoffical patch or require an older version of it. And then you have weird cases like Oblivion where the no CD version of the script extender as a dependency on Steam.
I don't want to deal with annoying problems just as the dead DRM Games for Windows Live but I don't play Bethesda games unmodded. Is the GOG version fine for mods?
