I'm trying to launch Fallout, but everytime I click the various icons to launch. It tells me I need 20 mb of free space to run it. I'm sitting on 10 gigs of free space on my HD. Oh please tell me there's a simple fix for this that I'm simply overlooking.

try emptying your trashbin, or putting something in there, I've heard this works, can't say for sure.
Have you tried everything in this thread?

Compability mode worked for me when I had no mods (with my current mods the problem is gone anyways).

Open up the fallout.cfg file using notepad in the root directory, near the bottom change the variable free_space to 0. Save and run.
And I changed my compatibility mode to Windoms 98 and it now works perfect. Thanks for the help everyone problem solved!
