You know that voice distortion effect that characters have in recordings and when they're wearing power armor helmets, etc.? I'm not getting it in the GOG versions of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. I would really like to know what could be going on.

I'm playing both games in Wineskin wrappers on Snow Leopard, Macbook model 7,1. Could that have something to do with it?

Quite likely, because I get the effect with Windows versions.
