Hey guys, so I recently purchased the Fallout Classic Bundle on Steam and I'd like to continue my Fallout 2 playthrough on Steam.

I noticed that the GOG version of Fallout 2 is installed with the high res mod and probably some other fixes/patches I'm unaware of as there is no way to disable these from the GOG installer.

I don't mind that at all, in fact I started my F2 GOG playthrough with this modern setup... but now I want to continue on Steam. What I'd like to know is, what exactly was installed in the GOG installer so that I can recreate it 1:1 on the Steam version?

tl;dr can anyone help me replicate GOG.com's Fallout 2 setup on the Steam version so that my saves can stransfer cleanly?

Specifically:
3. Fallout 2 High Resolution Patch - Adds higher resolution support.
Found the answer to my original question:

Both GOG.com Fallout 2 and Steam Fallout 2 come installed with:

Fallout II 1.02
sfall 3.2
High Res Patch 4.1.8

So YES the save games are compatible with each other - just copy the SAVEGAME folder. Assuming you install from the GOG installer or Steam with no mods, you can transfer the saved games perfectly.

The sfall link in that post is very outdated but thanks for bringing this to my attention - I've never heard of Killap's Unofficial Patch. Will definitely try it in my next playthrough. :) Thanks
