Hello,
Where does the GOG version of Fallout 2 on Vista hide the .gcd files? I've had a look in the savegame directory in Program Files, and I've looked in the AppData/VirtualStore dealio, no dice.

IIRC, Fallout 2 does not offer you the option to save the initial character profile to begin with.
But just to be sure, try searching in the Fallout 2 directory for any files with GCD extension.
