Hey guys. I decided to pick up the GOG version of Fallout 3 because I heard it was more stable than Steam. Unfortunately, this does not seem to be the case and it actually crashes more frequently than the Steam version does. I managed to get out of the vault and now the game crashes when I am walking in or around Megaton within a couple of minutes of launching the game. Here is my mod load order from FOMM:

Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm
Project Beauty.esm
StreetLights.esm
Zeta.esm
Anchorage.esm
Fallout3.esm
BrokenSteel.esm
PointLookout.esm
ThePitt.esm
Project Beauty- Point Lookout.esp
Fellout-pipboylight.esp
Fellout-BrokenSteel.esp
Fellout-Anchorage.esp
Fellout-Zeta.esp
CASM.esp
Fellout-PointLookout.esp
WeaponModKits.esp
Fellout-Full.esp
Project Beauty- Broken Steel.esp

Any help to get this great game working would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's probably a conflict with mods or wrong load order.

Do you have any mods that affect the same area of Megaton (or anywhere else)? There could be a mod conflct.

Try rearaging th load order.
Maybe try getting the same mods grouped together (e.g. everything form Fellout first, then everything form Project Beauty and thne the other mods).
The official game content (esm files) is supposed to be loaded first unless stated otherwise by the mod author.
Do any of the mods have specific load order requirements (e.g. need to be loaded last)?

If it's not a mod conflict, you just need to figure out how to rearange the load order so the game is happy with it.

I'm no familiar with the mods you're using, so I can only offer general advice.
The load order does seem odd. I'll try shuffling things around and see what happens.

Let me know how it goes.

By the way, where did you download Project Beauty from and when was it last updated?

Judging by the Nexus the mod itself might be outdated (when I searched for it, all I could find was it's succesor here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/6341/ ).

I am using that version, the mod files are still labeled as "Project Beauty"

OK good. I just wanted to check 'cause it seemed odd.
As an alternative suggestion: if all else fails, maybe you could replace Fellout with another mod?
It seems the most likely culprit for the crashes.

This mod will take more tuning, but it's lighter and will not be a challange for the load order.

Just a suggestion.
Update!

I have it running and just played for 2 hours with no crashes whatsoever. Rearranging the load order didn't do much. Instead I decided to try removing the Stutter Remover FOSE plugin and now I no longer have any crashes. I've heard it causes issues and I think it just doesn't play nicely with the GOG version.

Thank you so much, Wolfy777, for the help!

Have you installed FOSE and the stutter remover?

Hi, I found a way to get it going lol. I only installed FOMM then downloaded the Unofficial patch with FOMM, then the next one is I ran it on administrator and played it on FOMM Launch button and it worked smoothly. Thanks for your reply anyway :)

I have used fellout since it was first released years ago and have 0 problems with it. If you do, maybe you should be checking other things, just a suggestion
