Operation Anchorage is nice and cheap for the amount of content you get, 800ms points. Kinda sucks that PS3 owners miss out on it

they had a choice, buy a $600 gaming machine or buy a computer that can play Fallout 3.
They made their decision. They didn't want Fallout 3 DLC.
800 ms points isn't bad (it's ten dollars). But I would expect to see there be a cost for the DLC for PC as well, because we all know that isn't Microsoft overhead, that's Bethesda attempting to get a continued cash in on a product they're continuing to support.
Anyway, Valve is supposedly being forced to add a price to their DLC, because Micro$haft is forcing them to.

I somehow doubt that valve is being dragged kicking & screaming to make money
800 points is a fair price based on other 360 downloadable content, shit you'll get a few hours of play out of this as opposed to the one level for The Force Unleashed that looks like it'll take maybe 15 minutes. The content for Mass Effect was half that price for 1.5-2 hours and I felt that that was a good purchase, I'm sure that the Fallout 3 addon will be equally fulfilling. Well unless it sucks but that seems unlikely, if nothing else the mention in the interview that they're not making more horse armour is encouraging...
I don't think it's unfair for PC owners to have to buy the content, after all it's basically just replacing a disc based expansion pack.

Actually, they are (valve). It's the same updates that PC users got for free.
But I seriously don't think that the DLC should be free for Fallout 3, they had expansion discs for Oblivion, and for morrowind, that you had to pay for, and they should continue that trend.

Yeah Valve wanted Microsoft to offer them for free, but of course not.
It would be a good idea to eventually offer the DLC on a disk ala Knights of the Nine. They shouldn't wait though and put it all on a disc, though.
The main appeal of DLC is that it's cheap and for 5-10 bux it's a "What the hell?" buy. This is how GOG operates. The games are only 5 -10 bux and noone minds tossing such a small amount of money for quick delivery and fun.
But seriously once the G.E.C.K. is out, who cares about paying for content? There will be so much user generated stuff that you could easily forget about the official DLCs.

At least the 360 version works as intended unlike the PC version which is still bugged to hell and back.

I didn't have too many problems with the PC version, and I thought it was pretty nifty that it would credit your Xbox Live account with your achievements. (Made for a buncha easy achievements if you used the console... Placeatme (bobblehead ID) )
Yah the Oblivion editor was really easy to use, and I can only imagine GECK being a rehash of it. I just wanna see if anything good comes outta it.

Plus, I'm fairly certain no one went out to buy a Ps3 to play F3, but if someone already had a Ps3, I'm also fairly certain they wouldn't go out and buy a computer or XBOX simply to play F3... soo.. I guess they technically had a 'choice,' but not everyone has loads of excess cash to throw around.
Anyway, I have a Ps3, but I'm probably going to 'acquire' a copy for my comp to take advantage of the mods after some good ones come out. I figure if I paid for it once...

uff 2400 bucks ? that is alienware machine, its so expensive in australia ? If I want good gaming PC then it costs me about 1000 bucks without keyboard/mouse/monitor

Australia = rather expensive hardware. The PC I purchased late 2008 cost me 2000. Well, 1600, but the cost of a decent monitor and other extras piled on top past the 2k limit.
The market here does not treat us kindly. Partially because we allow ourselves to accept said cost.

Yeah things are bloody expensive here, doing a direct comparison by exchange rates shows that on a strictly monetary scale we get shafted.
As an example, the 1GB ram version of the Acer Aspire One netbook is us$349 on newegg, on Scorptec (one of the better Australian hardware sites), the exact same machine retails for the equivelant of us$423.
A mate of mine sent me an article a few months back where someone did a cost of living comparison on how much games really cost us and oddly enough, when calculated as a percentage of weekly income that a person sacrifices to buy a game, we pay pretty much the same as everyone else. Thats no excuse not to import and save heaps of cash where possible though!
The main reason my computer is going to be so damned expensive is that I'm getting top shelf equipment and nothing else. Halfway solutions & cheap crap have never worked in the past and only ended up costing me more money in the long run because they fail or become obsolescent far faster than new & good stuff.

I`ve had no problem running my FO3 on my PC.... which to be quite honest, really surprised me.
I have a Frankenstein PC...always have had since back in `94.
Home built with the best bits I can find cheaply.
Dated AMD single core Xp3700 chip (San Diego)
1gig DDR
80 gig & 160 Gig IDE drives
Sapphire Radeon 2600 (1gig)
I followed a link on this site showing comparison videos of the 360/Ps3/PC versions, and the PC comparison video looks identical to the way my version looks and runs.
I think , all together, my PC cost me to build , around £220 (thats about $350US i think)
I also run Oblivion at a good frame rate and resolution (but it gets a little choppy in multiple fight sequences inside an Oblivion gate)
The only game I have major issues playing, is the almost unusable at times, Everquest 2.
