I'm playing Fallout 1 with the standard updates/upgrades. I can't remember if it was F1 or F2 but there was a key to push to show you what was lying around on the ground. Things that might be hard to spot. Was it this game? What was the key? Thanks
There is no such key in Fallout 1 -- there is in Fallout 2.

I believe timeslip added this in sfall. There's sfall for Fo1 too, but is hard to find (the creator removed the file).

Timeslip never made a Fallout 1 version of sfall. This from his FAQ:

"Q: Where is the fallout 1 version of sfall?

A: There has never been a fallout 1 version of sfall. The mod that was available that shared the same name was not sfall in the fallout 2 sense, but mostly just a glorified fix for the black screen issues. This can now be accomplished more easily, and with less restrictions on which version of the fallout exe you need to use, with the resolution patch.

I don't intend to make anything along the lines of sfall for fallout 1 myself. "

Hickory:
The first versions were compatible with FO1.
You can read the following in the readme.txt included in sfall1:

_______________________________________________________________________________________
sfall, a fallout 1 and 2 engine tweak mod by Timeslip (http://timeslip.chorrol.com)
version 1.18e, built for fallout 1 v1.2 US.

This was a quick fallout mod which I originally stuck together to try and fix a few minor annoyances that I had with the games, but which has since turned into a slightly bigger mod which fixes some other peoples annoyances too. The main features are:

* Increase movement and combat speed to up to 10x normal.
* Play fallout in a window or in 16 bit colour mode
* Use d3d9 in place of the usual ddraw
* Use the mouse scroll wheel in the inventory, barter, conversation and save/load menus.
* Assign a use to the middle mouse button, and adjust mouse sensitivity beyond fallouts normal range
* Adjust or remove the 13 year time limit
* Fixes the broken pathfinder and sharpshooter perks
* Adds some additional script functions for modders to use

This mod only works with certain versions of the fallout exe's. For fallout 2, a US copy of 1.02 is required, although tweaked copies such as the version with megamod 2 also work. For fallout 1, a US copy of 1.2 is required, and you must use the windows version. (i.e. 'falloutw.exe'). Attempting to use this mod with an incompatible version of fallout will result in an error every time you run it, or if using the DOS version of fallout 1 the mod will simply have no effect. If you're version of fallout doesn't have kids, then you have the UK version instead of the US version, so you'll need to patch it into the US version before using this mod.

Using a d3d9 graphics mode obviously requires you to have dx9 installed and a dx9 compatible graphics card. sfall requires the DX9.0c August 2006 update. If you set the graphics mode to 5 or 6 but don't have DX9.0c installed, fallout will crash on startup. If you have a version of DX9.0c older than August 2006, fallout will crash at the main menu.
_______________________________________________________________________________________

The resolution patch doesn't add the option to change game speed, for example (I always use this to make battles faster). Sfall1 is still useful, believe me (or not).

Just to show you that I'm not imagining things:

Yes it was. The fallout 1 version just didn't actually do most of the things listed in that list of features.

iirc, the only thing it did that isn't done better by the res patch is the mouse wheel support. I'm pretty sure it doesn't do item highlighting.
If this is game about telling what is wrong in other person's post, now is my turn:

No, you are wrong. There's no such key in Fallout 2.
I know what you mean, but if someone that never played Fo2 before (or installed any mods/patches for it) reads your post, he/she would never find this key (you need to have sfall to use this feature).

Jokes aside, I hope I have been useful, dogeddie.

And middle mouse button I believe. Sfall also made it possible to record ingame footage as several LP's mention and quite few visitors to my site have come there using their links (best referer is GOG :-p).
