Hey! Today I got Fallout 3 GOTY and I wanted to adjust my field of view. I did the same thing I did with New Vegas and added the line fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0 to the end of my display settings in the Fallout_default file. However, I also changed the value of fDefault1stPersonFOV=55.0000 to fDefault1stPersonFOV=85.0000. This makes the viewmodel field of view (arms) way too long. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, yet it didn't revert. I've verified the game, yet it didn't work. I've changed the value of fDefault1stPersonFOV back to 55.0000 and removed fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0 yet it didn't revert. I'm really not sure what to do. Maybe it's something to do with the game reverting back to my cloud saves of the game when I entered the settings? I've even tried starting a new save game but to no avail. I basically want to revert back to a vanilla version of the game then go in and ONLY add fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0 instead of adjusting fDefault1stPersonFOV as well. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks in advance.

You made a mistake editing the "fallout_default.ini" file: instead you should have edited the fallout.ini file located in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\.

Since you seem to be using Galaxy, I suggest you to follow these instructions:
- select the game and click on MORE > Manage installation > Verify / Repair > VERIFY GAME;
- disable cloud save feature for the game (More > Settings > Sync local saves with GOG Galaxy Cloud);
- delete the whole configuration folder (%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Fallout3\);
- launch the game and check if everything is back to normal.

If you are not using Galaxy, I suggest you to uninstall the game and completely purge the installation directory and the configuration folder, then you can install it again.

Oh my god thank you. My arms and FOV are back to the default. However, the one thing I do want to do is just edit the actual FOV. Will putting fDefaultWorldFOV=90.0 in the "my games" configuration folder work now? I remember that doing the same thing with Fallout New Vegas gave me the result I wanted; only changing the FOV instead of the viewmodel FOV along with it.

Also, after doing all this, am I able to turn back on cloud sync?

Yes you can now add that line to "fallout.ini" to get the desired FOV.

I'm not familiar with GOG Galaxy but I suppose you can safely turn it on now. Anyway I suggest you to check if it restores the older (and "corrupted") configuration files because you surely don't want it! I don't think it will do this, but I initially suggested to turn it off just to avoid this possibility.

You've been a great help, I can get on to playing FO3 now. Thanks.
