First thing that happened was my mouse/keyboard wasn't working. But after removing the joystick and 360 controller that was solved. So I started playing a few minutes and got interested in modding the game.

I've installed Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) and NVSE, followed by Mod Configuration Menu (MCM). Next I tried to install the 4GB mod until I found it only worked for STEAM, and that GOG's version already has this patched into the game. Cheer GoG. There are two mods that I am going to wait on installing until I find I need them - NV Anti Crash and Anti-Stutter. No point in installing them if the game isn't having difficulties.

My next endeavor is for 'mostly' cosmetic improvements, textures and the like AND Game Fixes. I'm not sure, having never played NV and certainly not GOG's version of NV, if game fixing mods are needed??

What I am looking at are:
Yukichigai Unofficial Patch
EVE (Essential Visual Enhancements)
One Hud
Nevada Skies
NMCS Texture Pack
Colored Map and Icons
Weapon Mod Expanded and Mod Menu
Weapons Retexture Project

Hmm, after getting Mod examples from several lists, I found this website, that looks like it has them all. So instead of listing any more, I will just give the link if anyone is interested: http://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/1536-fallout-new-vegas-graphics-content-mod-overhaul/Page-1

Later, maybe these mods. These might be better after the first play through, though.
Project Nevada
Project Brazil
NMM can be problematic with some mods
The mod manager/launcher that seems to work the smoothest is the Fallout Mod Manager by TimeSlip.
It works with both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

Thanks! I actually found that out after posting above. Some of the mods I wanted had to have FOMM.

anyway, After modding about 6, I ran the game to make sure it was actually working, and I found red !'s. Add that to the issue I had with NMM and I am going to delete all, and start with a new install and mod from FOMM.

Also, am going to do one mod at a time. Boot the game, Exit, one more mod. As many mods that are out there I want, that is going to take a lot of time, but at least I will know exactly when it messes up and maybe I can do something about it.

Hi, so, I have another question: Is it possible to download Fallout:NV mods without having to deal with Nexus Mods bullshit?

Because I don't want to make a throwaway email account just to download 3 mods.

Files under 4MB can be downloaded without signing in. Otherwise, you're out of luck. If you want mods, you go where the mod authors are.
