I've just completed the entire glow quest for the brotherhood, returned with the holo-disk, and when I offer to give the guard the item, he says "you dont have to lie about it." am I missing something? thanks.

When you get to the Brotherhood, read the tapes for 100 experience. Talk
to Cabbot and give him the tapes. The door will be unlocked and you will
also receive 1500 experience points.

Thanks for the link, but I figured out what the problem was. I've been trying to keep my inventory organized using the canvas bag, and leather backpack for certain items. I had the disk stored in the backpack. [not the top level of the inventory] so when I offered to give the guard the disk., he couldn't see it.

Yeah the same thing happens if you give it to one of your NPCs to hold onto...
So, how many good books did you read in the Glow? They are awfully heavy to carry around, especially when you have to cart all that bad ass weaponry out of the lower levels.

I actually read all of them. I used 2 Rad-X before I got in there, cleared it all out, and then I sat down to a nicely radiated cup of tea (not really) and spent several hours reading the books :) I had to use another Rad-X as the radiation resistance dropped during that time. Then I picked up all the really valuable stuff, used a buffout so I could open the wedged door, get the other science book and read it, took the missile launcher with me (which really wasn't worth the cravings I had from the buffout) and got out of there with a mere 12 points of radiation :)

LoL that is funny... I take full advantage of the fact that your NPC members don't have weight limitations.
Me too. My guys are carrying an absurd amount of stuff. I just wish I could load up the dog.

Oha, I actually never thought of that possibility. Then again, though, I also never thought about being able to pickpocket them, so whenever I wanted them to carry something I had to barter it. But I guess after all it saved me some trouble, as already selling the loads I alone could carry was annoying enough :)

Hehe, the image of a poor little pooch with a huge bag hanging from each side is indeed quite absurd :D

slightly off-topic... there's an easier way to get into the BoS than by completing the glow quest -- complete the thieves guild quest by stealing the necklace and you'll get an electronic lockpick. use that with a high lockpick skill to unlock the door to the complex. the door guards didn't mind at all when i did it, heh.
i also completed the initiate rescue quest before picking the lock to get the BoS on my good side.

That's funny. I always assumed that the brotherhood guys in the complex wouldn't talk to you if you got in by picking the lock. That's a major short-cut to getting the power armor.

i was a little unsure about it as well, heh... but i couldn't figure out the glow quest. all that i saw at the glow was a big crater and never found anything there. so i just decided to go and pick the lock and see what would happen. i think rescuing the initiative first helped, too.

Yeah, I'm sure you know by now that you need to use rope to climb down into the crater. Sometimes the game is a pain because puzzles and quests are hidden a little too well. For example, there are tons of computers in the game, but the vast majority don't work. Although that makes sense post-apocalypse, it's hard to know when a computer is "no really, it's broken, stupid" and "gee, you missed triggering the script by 3% on your science roll"

ack... so simple... why didn't i think of it at the time? thanks!
On my recent playthrough I was an idiot and apparently didn't pack enough anti-rad stuff, my 2x rad-x ran out at some point without me noticing resulting in such a high rad count that the rad-away packs I had didn't get rid of it all, basically dooming to die the second I tried to travel outside the Glow to a different destination... and luckily my other save was a couple hours previously. I hate myself sometimes.
