Hey all! Please visit this thread for more up-to-date information: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/fallout_4_nextgen_update_is_coming_but_will_likely_be_slightly_delayed.

Right now, I can't unfortunately give you anything concrete.

The update proved to be more difficult than expected but we're determined to make it happen. We're actively working with Bethesda to bring it here. No ETA to give you though :/

Odessam: Update : " Hello! I'm sorry for my delayed answer. We're still working to deliver the Update but it proved to be more complex that initially expected. We hope to provide it in May still. "

This kind of delay for an update that came out for other platforms across the board over a month ago is blatantly disrespectful to consumers and only showcases GOG's negligence. This update was ready to go and made available for EVERYONE in a day. And yet here we are at the END of May, and we still can't update our games through your platform. I've had nothing but issues with games purchased through your platform and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I will NEVER be purchasing any content from your services ever again and I will be requesting a refund for F4 because I purchased it with the assumption that it would be sold to me UP TO DATE.
Over a month to release an update that ALL other platforms were able to get day 1 of its release. It's honestly laughable how incompetent GOG is as a whole.

Well said! Could not have put it any better.
Exactly such disregard for the players, without even writing a specific deadline. Things like this should be resolved quickly, not that you have to wait 2 months for someone to get off their ass to do something. Więc niech ktoś ruszy łaskawie doope i zacznie coś robić, bo w cenie gry jest też opcja aktualizacji.

when is the update can you give a date ?
I don't know what you people are smoking, but believe me it's better to NOT have the next-gen update. There's so many things wrong with it and if you mod the game then you'll have days and days of maintenance nightmare. I for one am happy the next-gen update is not rolling out soon and would rather it didn't all together. Very little gain for very massive loses.

Most want it for mod compatibility,I personally just want it for equal treatment of the game among platforms despite me never modding my game

Mods are more compatible without the next-gen update, it's a complete nightmare to mod the next-gen version since many modders have left the game years ago and probably would never come back. Whoever says to you to get the next-gen update for a better modding experience or for most mods to be compatible, is lying.

The grass is NOT greener on the other side, equal treatment doesn't mean better treatment. Trust me, it's better to stay in this current version of the game.

Theres the kicker new mods will be made for this so called 'Next-gen ''update others updated and the fact everyone peddles the Unofficial fallout 4 patch mod as essential ,even if you don't mod the game otherwise once the Nexus version is gone one would need to go to other places for it among other mods that are peddled as ''pretty much required''

Which fyi while the equal treatment might not be the best its better to not encourage big and small game companies or devs to forgo updating gog version of games we have far too much of that going on without needing to seem to give a excuse devs and companies can point to as a scapegoat

I've been in the community long enough to know that most new mods will have versions for next-gen version and non next-gen versions especially since most players downloaded the downgrade mod to revert the next-gen update back to the version before the update. Skyrim is an example that literally has 3-4 options per mod so it'll work for your specific version of your game, but old mods and mods that are left behind by their authors before the next-gen may never get an update and that's almost 10 years worth of mods compared to a few weeks of next-gen. The Unofficial Fallout 4 mod has a GOG non next-gen version and it'll stay that way unless GOG updates the game, if you already have the mod installed now and you don't update the game or the mod, it'll be fine.

Not be the best is an understatement in this case, it's literally going for a worse version of an almost decade old game. If the version their offering is worse in every capacity without giving significant upgrades, bug fixes, or any new content then it's better not to get the update. Also it isn't Bethesda that's preventing GOG from updating, it's GOG themselves.

Whatever on the first and the second matter we would have gotten the next-gen update by now if not for a outcry over not wanting the update or so that was the reason given by GOG at first why it was delayed further then expected and then other reasons given ..So it feels like excuses iether by Gog not wanting to admit they don't have a updated build or Bethesda/microsoft is being diffucilt.. I'd say its a mix of both

Good on GOG, may we never get the next-gen update.

Again I disagree its at all a good thing as it can easily make other studio's,companies and devs less likily to be willing to update or feel a need to at all to do it on the GOG version of games so we'll have to agree to disagree on if its a good thing or not that GOG has not got the Net gen update

2 short Questions

1. Will there ever be the Next Gen Update and the following one for GOG Version?

2. Where i can get the Password for the Beta Channel?

Salute

Rygar
I, for one am new to PC gaming and just want to play the base version with the latest update. I have gotten tired of waiting and requested a refund and disappointed to say that i have gotten no response.

I think I now understand the discounts associated with this service. Seems like I may be better served with another gaming store since I have no faith this is a "special case" and not providing a response to a user is a strong indication of the legitimacy of this as a service.

This experience certainly informs my decisions for future game purchases.

If It was possible for me to care less about modding, I would. I find modding useless and I stay as far away from it as I can. So for me, I'll just take the update and play the game. Just my little thought there.
