anival1991: I'm sure there have been tons of topics on it not working on windows 10, but for the love of me I cannot get this game to work. I can play it fine, but for some reason as soon as I leave the overseers office the game freezes, at this part every single time. I tried with and without mods, every type of "fix" I still can't get passed that area. This is so weird lol. Any Ideas?
mcflymcmurderface: Have you tried running the game in windowed mode? It might sound strange, but that actually considerably reduces the number of crashes.
There's also a bug in this game with the thread usage that can cause the game to crash a lot.
In your Fallout.ini file, if you haven't already, try changing iNumHWThreads=2 to iNumHWThreads=1 and see if that fixes the problem.
Oh Ive tried both those options, running in windows let it go like two steps forwards and just froze again. Its always at the exact same spot which is weird. I never get to leave vault 101, its always when you have to open the vault door. Also yeah editing the ini file also did nothing, changing the modes also did nothing, so strange. I even asked support and it was so much they wanted me to try I kind of just gave up.
Also the whole tutorial before that ran perfectly, it's just as soon as you open the Overseers tunnel and leave the exit to the vault door it freezes as soon as it loads up. Still playing the audio sometimes.
