the launcher works fine but as soon as I click new game it loads for 2 seconds and then crashes

On my old Win 7 laptop the game runs fine, not using the standard launcher though. You might want to check out the unofficial patch

iirc there are other mod managers as well, never bothered testing them since it works well for me. I am running the mod manager and tell it to launch FOSE - no idea if this works on Win 10.

Edit: Offline installer installation - no clue if Galaxy stuff changes anything.

ive got exactly the same problem. the game used to run normally 6 months ago on the very same desktop computer but now it crashes everytime. so i deleted and reinstalled it but its still the same issue.

edit: i have windows 10 and dont run any mods. complete vanilla.
