I'm planning on using a few mods to start. Resolution patch of course, The unnoficial patch and timeslips engine tweaks since it worked good on fallout 1.
Does anyone know if I need the children patch as well? Someone mentioned that a few quests and the like are bugged if the children are not in the game and I wouldn't want to miss anything.

Unlike the GOG release of Fallout 1, Fallout 2 has the children visible already.
Cool. I was thinking of adding the "very hard" mod but the documentation mentions that it doesn't work with other mods and should only be applied to a vanilla install.
Has anyone tried running it with something like the restoration project?

hi all.
I have a "stupid" question for you all with mods and fallout 2.
I just bought and downloaded the game from GOG. I looked at the 188megamod, it tells me to remove the data folder from my 1.2 patched fallout 2 folder and place the mod's data folder there instead.
but the gog game has patch 1.3 and the data folder is in a different format and name!
this new folder, two of them, is about the same size as the data folder, but in another format, what should i do with this mod, and the others?! how would patch 1.3 affect the use?
so.
how do I install one or more or all of these mods. can i use ALL of them without incompatibilities?!
thanks...freestone
Good question, am having the same problem.
Hey I'm having a problem downloading any of these mods. Well, I download them but it always says the zip folder is either corrupt or invalid. Is anyone else having this problem? Its only the ones that come from atomicgamer.com. EVERYtime i get something from that site I have this problem. I really want these mods! Any suggestions??
Yeah, why haven't there been no replies here? The people from GoG or at least the person who posted these mods should have replied by now.
Killap has his own site for his Unofficial Patch and Restoration Project : killap.net
If you want/need latest sfall (in use in both killap's projects) or specific version of it you can find it from Timeslip's site.
Questions about mods probably should be directed to specific mod topics in NMA modding forums in case they need to make GOG compatible versions.

Rysa: 1. Fallout 2 Resolution patch v1.8b
Allows to play the game in higher resolution.

8. Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch (US/UK - installer)

I installed the above two mods, first the killap patch, then the resolution one. Now my game won't start no more. What gives?

randomboy:

I have the same problem, tried one at a time and it gets the same error 'fallout 2 seams to be running in compatibility mode'. I checked and it is not in compatibility mode. I have xp sp3 if anybody has any ideas what could be causing this.
I also have the 'fallout 2 seams to be running in compatibility mode' problem with the Restoration Project patch. Can't start the game (xp with sp3).
I installed Fallout 2 (setup_fallout_2.exe), that exe is from gog.com. After that I installed F2_Restoration_Project_1.2.exe. I try to launch the game and get this error: Fallout appears to be running in compatibility mode
What I do wrong? :(
The same for me, and after desinstalling restoratio patch 1.2 and reinstaling F2 i've got the same message without installing restoration patch...
Need to erase all perhaps...
Indeed i reinstall F2 then F2 high resolution patch 1.8b and everythings works...But i really need the restoration patch it's a must have....
Did the killapp patch work alone, cause the problem may occurs with one of the multiple patches include in the restoration project...

The lack of replies to this is a disgrace.
