Fallout2 High Resolution Patch v3.0.5 - yet another link:

http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1362
Some issues:

1) I installed all the recommended mods in their recommended order and while sfall 2.16 says it adds the option to change the font color via the main menu, it does not. It also causes a warning about the ddraw.ini having been changed to pop up. I think this may be because one of the mod packages gave it 2.12 but I additionally got 2.16 and tried to add it on. There doesn't seem to be an installer so it knows that it's a valid update.

2) I think it will be alright running 1280x720 but because the characters are so small I think it would be even nicer at a lower yet still widescreen format. I tried setting it to 853x480 and it said it couldn't boot the game in that res. Is there a way to do this? Having everything display larger isn't worth messing up the aspect ratio.

So I've just installed Fallout 2 onto my computer win7(64bit) and I've applied the patches in the order that was recommended in this post (1 Killap's, 2 Hi-res, amd 3 Sfall) the game seems to play alright but I dont have music. I've searched online and the solution seems to be to modify the fallout 2.cfg file, however I dont have this file so I'm at a loss on how to solve this problem. Did the patches rename this file?
And here's yet another link for the FO2 high res patch.

Is there any way to stretch picture with resolution lower than display resolution not to full screen, but to preserve aspect ratio? Ive installed only game itself and restoration project 2.1.2b. With sfall disabled i got any resolution i choose stretched or chopped to 4:3 area in the center of display with black bars on sides. With sfall enabled i got any resolution stretched to full 16:9 display.
Im surprised you guys don't have megamod pack in here
falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/MIB88_Megamod
Includes kilaps/ lots of mods etc and easy to use installer
Just an FYI: If you guys go to download mods/patches from No Mutants Allowed, get them from the Forums, not the download section, since those will be the most recently updated versions.
The '3. Fallout 2 High Resolution Patch - Adds higher resolution support. ' isn't there anymore; what I mean is, the link goes to an unknown mod/deleted mod.

This sticky severely needs an update, my Fallout 2 turned out uglier than I've ever seen this game. A screwed up aspect ratio from a less than impressive high resolution patch makes me a sad panda.
I would just like to mention that Killap's unofficial patch also adds new sprites for your team members so you can see the armor they are wearing.

It may sound a bit silly, but it's one of the main reasons why I use that patch.

I had killap's patch installed and it was causing me a ton of bugs, most notably I couldn't enter Westin's ranch in NCR because after talking to the cop he would go to the console to disable the laser beams, but the beams themselves would remain there preventing me access. Removed the patch and it worked. Tbh I think it causes more hassle than good, but then again it may be just me.
i will probably sound kind of silly for this but im new to trying to mod games i have the GOG version of f2 and am trying to install restoration project to it and it keeps asking me for the fallout2.exe ive looked and looked cannot find it while im trying to install the mod to my game

I found the fallout 2 file by going to Computer, then whichever storage device the game is on and then going to program files, it is in GOG.com and the just fallout 2, don't put the mod into the data or sound file just put it straight into the fallout 2 folder, I hope this helps.
