Hi.
I wonder if it's possible to disarm floor traps like those in the corridor to the Thieve's circle or those at The Glow after I noticed them.
Yes, you can use your traps skill (it's in the skills menu) to try to disarm them, after you spotted them. Whether you succeed depends on your skill level and your agility + perception.

But unlike box traps or door traps, I can't point the marker in a specific place.

Your character should have enough Perception and Traps skill levels to spot the floor trap. On successful roll trap becomes visible as an object you can point and apply skill on. AFAIR, text message appears in the log windows as well when trap is spotted. If your character does not meet the requirements the only way to disarm the trap is to trigger it. Or blow it up. Not sure if explosives would work with floor traps, though.

I think when your character spots a trap, it is visible on the floor. It can be really difficult to see, but you should be able to find it.
Thank you both for your answers, but although I'm spotting the traps many times I am still unable to see them or disarm them. I remember that when using the Fixt mod I was able to disarm traps when I spotted them automatically, but now playing the original version. Are you sure we are talking about Fallout 1?

One thing you can try, and I did this for some hard to see traps and later it just became a routine.
- Click on the Disarm Trap skill and your mouse will turn into a cross or something I think.
- Then just start clicking a few tiles where you think that traps might be or just all tiles nearby as you go.
- If there is no trap, a msg will indicate that I think. If there is, chances are your character will move towards the trap to disarm it.
- Normally your character stops if a trap is spotted. So that means the trap should be fairly close. Like maybe one of the 6 tiles in front fo you. If the slow wway to do it, but that's all I can think of.

Also consider that something may be off in your graphics settings, as I had no issue at all spotting traps in FO1 (running on Win7 install). Try uploading a screenshot if you can, maybe we can get some clue as to what is going on.

Also look up Fallout1in2 (goes by FO Et Tu), cause it has a lot of QoL improvements and may even some more fixes. Kinda think of it as a FO1 remaster lol. Still the exact same story afaik but with a lot of the benefits of FO2.

Not pushing you towards it, but it might be work at least looking into. :)

P.S. FO1in2 should also have pretty much all the fixes Fixt has and more if I'm not mistaken.

I tried to record a video with ShareX, but the game screen seen after recording is tiny for some reason.
I managed to record the game on a windowed screen although it's still a bit too small. But as you can see after I noticed the trap there's no marker on it and when I try to use the trap skill on the square that the trap is in, the hero just walks on it, operating the trap.

I checked the video, but didn't see the mouse cursor turn into a yellow crosshair. Correct me if I overlooked it.

Here's a YouTube video of someone in the Thieve's Guild area that also senses traps, but their mouse cursor turns into the yellow crosshair when using Disarm. Though I think Dogmeat was the one that set off the trap before they could disarm it.

So maybe try clicking the red button on the HUD to open up the skill window and try manually selecting the Disarm Trap skill. The number keys also work and it's in the exact order the skills are listed on the list.

I am using FO1in2 so I don't know if they did something to see traps better or not. Also, the last time I saved the game was probably still at the beginning and nowhere near to that point in the exploration.
.
P.S. Ah, I also did something long ago and I don't think you made the same mistake, but gonna ask anyway. Did you accidently choose Lockpick skill by chance? They are next to each other in the Skill list and I did that mistake during my first playthrough of the game years ago.

Thank you for clarifying this. It seems that after sensing a trap I can use the trap's skill to disarm it, but without any notice or sign that it happened. I just clicked numerous times in all hex directions and afterward, I could keep walking without activating the traps. Unfortunately, meatdog keeps walking around and activating the traps while I'm trying to disarm them but I guess it's another story for another day. Thank you very much.

I wish I could have been of more help. I love FO1 and it's one of my all time favorites, but FO1in2 lets me order my party much better (i.e. FO2's upgraded party management). But that's another story.

Also, in the thieves guild, there's a way around the trapped path. There's a YT vid showing it, but I didn't want to say it here in case you didn't want spoilers. :)
