Trying this again as it didn't get anywhere last time. Been trying to play Fallout 1 + 2 on my updated computer and they keep crashing whenever I try to play them at fullscreen. In windowed mode, they work just fine.

Have you tried renaming ddraw.ini? Do you get any pop-ups when it crashes?

I have not, and I did not.

What should I rename the ddraw.ini?

I don't get any popups, the screen just freezes and if there are any tracks playing they glitch out.

Just rename it to anything (or cut/paste it to a different folder), it's a common fix to FO1 and 2's crashes.

You might also want to try running it in compatibility mode (try maybe XP and 98)

I tried removing and renaming the draw files in both Fallout 1 + 2, plus I tried using the compatibility setting you suggested, still the same issue.
I'm out of ideas, apologies :(
The only thing I can tell you is to just use a different PC since both games will run on pretty much anything.

Try playing in borderless maximized window, if it suits your requirements.
Post the contents of your ddraw.ini to https://paste.opensuse.org/. Also post the contents of your f2res.ini that you're using (open f2_res_Config.exe and click manually edit config)

Also, how does it crash? is there an error message?
