I tried everything that is listed in the forums to fix the issue of crashing on boot, but nothing is working. I was hoping it was fixed since the hard copy had the same loading issues, but I guess not. What a bummer and I am feeling like I wasted my money. Also all the forum answers point you to a .dll file you have to pay for. No thank you. I paid for my game already and don't feel I want to pay more money just to fix it.

Edit: tried reinstalling, no change. Tried running as admin: no change. Tried going into compatability mode: also no change. I will keep researching this issue on my system. Maybe it will help someone else.

I also put a ticket in with the creator website. Told them of the issues. Maybe they will have feedback to get the game to work. I have a computer that more than meets the requirements so this makes no sense.

If you are talking about downloading the d3d9.dll from the link below, you do not have to buy it. If you go to the page, and scroll down just a little, you will see all the available versions with the download link to the far right of each one. You do not have to buy any of them.

Will do. I was just hoping the issues the physical copy had would be figured out. I will start the process. Maybe GOG has something I missed.

I hope GOG can help you get the issue resolved. I can confirm that they did fix many issues that still plague the Steam version but were not able to get everything such as the issues that cause the game to crash with Intel graphics.
When I start Fallout 3 through GOG galaxy, the game crashes at the start.

It runs fine if I start it by using the exe file in the game folder.

I don't have any idea why.

It is worth a try.

Thanks I will try that too.

I think that's my issue. I have a Lenovo G50-70 with Intel 4400 HD graphics, and it crashes upon clicking continue (I forgot it had cloud saves lol). At least I have another machine that runs the game fine, although it's not mine. Wish I could have gotten the version of this machine with the AMD graphics, but for something I found in a friends yard for free, I can't really complain can I?

Free is very hard to complain about.
It would be nice if GoG Team updated the Fo3 GoTY Installer to make the necessary changes to make it work on Win 10 like it does for other games.
