I've got a terrible computer at the minute and dos box runs pretty bad

Since when Fo2 is DOS application? AFAIR it was Win only. Answer: yes it runs under Windows without DOSBox... :>

In old days Fo1 was for DOS but GOG version is for Microsoft Windows. And for Mac if somebody is using it.

TPR is correct, only FO1 had a DOS executable, but this isn't provided with GOG version.

The game runs well on Windows, including 7x64, and should pose a problem. The game doesn't require much graphical or CPU processing so you should be able to enjoy all the games even on a 10 year old pc.

Go pick em up and enjoy them, great RPG's (and Tactics is a "great" TBS, even-though it has some minor flaws keeping it from perfect!)

Fallout Tactics was an odd mirror. F1 and 2 had great stories, but the combat was the weak link. Fittingly enough, Fallout Tactics had awesome combat, but the story was sorely lacking, especially when they went a completely different direction on robots than Fallout Canon.

As for whether FNV would have sold as well without F3, I don't know, but I do think it sold better than another Bethesda made Fallout would have.

AFAIK, Mac version of FO1 in GOG is the DOS version running in dosbox.
Thus no mac version of FO2.

Pretty ironic how it's easier to get DOS and windows versions of games running on modern macs, than the old mac versions.

The old mac versions of games relied on an entirely different set of instructions versus the ones today which are coded with an Intel based architecture. With DOS and Windows you still have the same basic architecture i.e. Intel-based processors and that makes a whole world of difference.

I do hope though, that you guys get some funky wine-whatever-gizmo-system going that'll make it possible to get old windows gogs to run on modern macs. DOS games is better than no games, but more win stuff added would be more better.

I am thinking that we're going to involve hamsters in this somehow as there not enough solutions that involve hamsters... :D

If F2 would run on dosbox I would at least be able to run it. I haven't found any working solution to run it on my mac. There used to be some ports, but can't get them to work. Too bad.

This is a bit lazy suggestion, but you could try this (and let us know if it works).
I'd try it myself, but ... lazy.

Any other WIne solution might work just as well. Crossover almost certainly, but it's not free.
I know VirtualBox
worked for the stuff I tried it with, but you need windows install discs for that.

Tried Winebottler now, doesn't work. Fails to install.
Tried Crossover, white screen of death.
Tried Wine wrapper from portingteam, no luck. Tried my own, no luck.
