I plan on playing Fallout with the restoration/fix mods available, and i wonder if there is a fix for the "burst" mode in any?

Since spraying half a mag is´t really a burst mode it´s more a "spray-and-pray" mode.

It was ages since i last played Fallout 1 or 2 and I never played it with any mod.

Use "burst mode" in close combat only and it will look better... :>

That used to be my "fix" for it, but it also resulted in the fact that i hardly used the "burst" mode, or automatic guns at all.

But i wonder if there is a change of the amount of bullets used per "burst" in any mod?
It ruins the feel of ammo being a rare resource when you blast away like theres no tomorrow.

As far as I'm aware, no such mod exists - the number of rounds per "burst" is set based on the weapon, and it will always "spray" in a conical fashion. I think this is (possibly) too difficult to change via mods...

I totally get what you mean though - especially if you've played a game like Jagged Alliance 2 where you can do controlled bursts at body parts, when here you either aim or spray. I guess the idea of "controlled burst" didn't exist in this universe, or they lost this ability once the bombs fell... ;)

I think in my first playthrough of these games I hardly ever used burst unless I was really close, since I liked to go for head shots; however, this kind of defeats the purpose of burst/auto mode IMO. The second time I went auto mode a LOT and it made the game more fun IMO, but I was using YAMM (which didn't change bursts or accuracies but changed how damaging ammo was). Basically if you have guns which fire LOTS of rounds per burst, and most of your guys are firing bursts, it's effective - either that or stick to close range sprays.

You might want to check the No Mutants Allowed (http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php), just in case though - if there is a mod like that out there you can be it'd be located there. If you find one be sure to post back here since I'd be interested in giving it a shot.

Unfortunately I think we're stuck with accurate or full-auto-spray, and nothing in-between.
