anyone ever managed to get this awesome fraggin' gun in fallout 2? people say that it can be found in random merchant encounter north of modok. i surfed and surfed around modoc for years (in-game and real ones) but was never successful. all merchants that i met were either hostile, or had only some crappy apples to sell, and that with my outdorsman skill = 300!

I guess you need high luck atribute to find that spot. Long time ago when I played F2 I made character with 10 luck and I managed to find that blaster :)

If I remember correctly there was also this encounter with a cave with every possible item in the game and it could only be found with 10 luck and all of the outdoorsman perks.
I haven't still had the time to explore all aspects of the game or tried to have every item in the game. Still a lot of to do in Fallout 2; reason good enough to keep playing it. :)

i like to play sharpshooter style, so my luck is always at 10, for criticals. still didn't find it.
say, did you buy that blaster from a trader, or just found it laying on the ground?

you misunderstood me :(
that ufo place is in fallout 1 and it is easily encountered at the beginning of the game with luck above average and outdoorsman at the bottom. what i am talking about is possibility to get this baby in fallout 2. unfortunately i was never successful at it, so i'm asking other people if this rumor is true and how did they managed to find it.
i simply miss this baby in fallout 2, solar pistol's parameters are way behind it...

In the toxic caves on the 2nd floor if I remeber correctly there were all weapons ?
Perks with high chances of finding secret places are useful when you have low luck ;/

U can only BUY Alien Blaster. U must encounter trader, north from Modoc. U may need a bit of luck. If u will find him, he will have alien blaster (only for sell, when u kill him u wont get it).

now that's what i'm talking about! : ) cruised around modoc for a REALLY long time, but the traders were either hostile, or selling crap :( what did i do wrong? luck 10, perception 10, heroic reputation, outdorsman 300, add perks dealing with random encounters. maybe i should have been bad? some traders said i was a do-gooder, and refused to trade because of this :(
btw, what was the price of the blaster?

Sorry, this is all i know. I have found Alien Blaster maybe 2 times. Its really hard to get encounter with that trader... But im 100% sure it is north from Modoc. 3-4 squares away.

could you please specify the parameters which your character had upon encountering the trader? stat points, karma, perks, skills, etc in average. if you remember them, of course :)

Ok. I have found something on google, coz im curious bout that too. You need to meet trader named Willy who, for the first time, will sell you spear, if you meet him again he will sell weak gun, and when you meet him 3rd time he will have 4 alien blasters. You have to seek 3 squares and more away from Modoc @ north...
