Hi all =)

the title says most of it, but let me expand a little. Invariably, when I ask that for a similar game, I get the same replies : "X-com !!1!!"

But no. I don't want such games, those where you have missions that are only turn-based combat, like X-com, Battle brothers or Xenonauts. I would really love something that has some big map(s) where you walk around, scouring, chatting and gaining XP in other, parallel, ways than just killing ennemies.

Shadowrun was quite similar but I have all those games already. I also own Underrail.

Thanks for any insights you might offer me !

You should definitely check Wasteland 2. It's a postapo game like Fallout Tactics. The combat system is turn based and the game relies more heavily on storytelling and dialogues than FT, but if you like FT, you should like W2 as well. If you prefer fantasy setting, Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 are good choices.
I've always been a little on the fence about Wasteland 2, a lot of people say the combat is meh. Then again, is it that much more evolved in Tactics...?

Original Sin, I have, I should get back to them indeed.

Thanks =)

Yeah, FT has a slightly better combat system. The biggest advantage is that you can switch between turn based and real time combat modes. Also targeting specific body parts is done better in FT. But again the combat system in W2 is not that bad. I enjoyed it as well.
I'd agree with the wasteland 2 assessment. It definitely feels the most like Fallout tactics out of any game and i find myself going back to it a lot. As much as I love the shadowrun series I've put way more time into Wasteland 2. Games like Pillars of Eternity and Origianl sin don't do it for me if I'm looking to play a game like FT. Xcom doesn't either.. xcom is way more intense. Fallout tacitcs feels weirdly laid back which is probably why I love to play it so much.
Jagged Alliance 2 would probably be right up your alley. It's mostly a strategy game but there's plenty of role playing and running around in real-time (combat only goes into turn-based when you attack or are attacked by an enemy). There's also town exploration and side quests that don't always involve fighting.
I agree about FT's ambiance, it has something that just makes it tense enough but relaxing at the same time. Probably explains why I get back to it, no matter what. If I had to make a game myself, I'd probably count it as a good inspiration ^^

Jagged Alliance 2, yes ! I have it, but for some reason, never went to install it. I'll do so now and go try it. I also got Silent Storm 2 when it was on sale, and while it appears different at first sight, it might fill that gap as well.
