I mostly enjoy the mod. It's detailed and content-rich. But where I'm having trouble is the difficulty. A lot of enemies tear through you like you're made of paper, and you hit them like it too. It's hard to explore, because most enemies tear you apart. I feel like I've kinda been railroaded onto the main quest, because that's the direction of the least punishing enemies so far.

Also, it has a good dog

The difficulty is really unbalanced for my taste, Usually i'd be playing Fallout on hard but this mod has made me lower it down to easy. Does not help that a good chunk of encounters are overwhelming where you are fighting 3-4 people all with guns while you are armed with an .32.

Strange balancing act from the devs.
Yes, playing on normal and ammo and tickets are nearly survival-style scarce while enemies partially require 3-4 headshots to go down (had an enemy dog that required 8.....). Requiring so many shots is not challenging but instead removes immersion (who the hell has the luck to survive a second headshot in real).

If you want the total conversion to be hard configure survival mode like that if you like to, but already normal feels more like a soft-survival mode then simply exploration fun. I want to explore the world and have fun with it and the quests and not look at my stingy ammo counter all the time.
Does this mod have the bullet sponginess of F4 vanilla on hard ?

I quited F4 for that exact reason, it killed the immersion for me

More like F4 on very hard.

The multiplikators for out/and ingoing damage are the same as F4 (at last this is what getgs fdiffmult tells me), still they must have changed these values at another point (or added an additional multiplikator to the formula) that i am not yet able to access.

Ammo is scarce and as i said i play on normal, the sponginess feels like fallout 4 on very hard - or even more.

Everything else looks really good in folon, but this feels like massive enforced exxageration.

Indeed, the difficulty's higher than that of Fo4. In several hours playing this game, the number of times my character has died in FoLon is very much higher than that in Fo4... or Fo1/2/3/NV, for that matter.

I think that in Fo4, it's easy to rely on / get spoiled by the various protective properties of the T-45 Power Armor found at a very early stage. I'm certainly not the one who did. Leveraging that Power Armor set isn't mandatory, but not taking advantage of it is akin to gluttony for punishment... I never looked back to non-Power Armor types after that, though underneath the successive Power Armors, wearing armor parts with special LK/CH/AP/etc. effects brings various nice bonuses.

So far, I'm not yet feeling a change in the approach to playing the game, though. This game still feels very much like Fo4. In order to help avoid sources of radiation, I can draw from my Fo3 and Fo4 experience (well, FoNV as well, but there's less radiation overall in there). Sneaking around and avoiding wildlife when possible remains a good idea to spare ammo.
Playing Fo4 has definitely modified my style for a new run of Fo3 I started several weeks ago: lower usage of VATS, higher weapon diversity, higher proportion of close-range fights though they hurt more than on Fo4 because even Power Armor sets, which I'm not about to get in Fo3 because I'm going through most of the map (in order to pick up books and quests) before progressing the main questline, is far from being as protective as on Fo4.
I have a serious problem with gameplay and story. No matter how many perks you have, you are very weak! FO4-London is some Stone Age with melee weapons and ranged weapons are rare. It is survivel on the edge.
Very early in the game, you must save Ricky. You need 7 points!!! of Intelligence to heal him.
It is impossible to save Ricky without using Clarity-Classc = Mentats, when you have luckily 5 points Intelligence, including the "Purity" perk. - But when you use Clarity you get a penalty of -2 points on strength and endurance. In this Stone Age, this is a serious drawback. This is an example, how the game ticks. You play the game not with fun but with ambition. Beating an unfair stupid game how so many others. At this stage, I am not happy.

- Too much story and to less exploring, because you are weak....and many invisible walls!!!
- linear level design by setting
- new weak weapons
- nearly all perks from apparels are removed - no perception from glasses, no intelligence from Ushanka.Hat etc.
- all "Rubbish Bins" are empty! Everyone!
- Team FOLON completely ignored the "Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch" transferring FO4-Bugs to FO-London
- too many invisible walls
- too many invisible walls
- too many invisible walls
- Team FOLON delivers all cheatcode lists - this tells a lot...

But FO-London is looking good. Setting and visuals is everything.
It is a problem with many games including mods that the makers rather wants to make movies and not games.
With all the bugs and mistakes, vanilla FO4 is really a GAME!

So I made my first London-mod ;-)

Have I mentioned: "too many invisible walls" ? Before I forget..
At least stability is not the problem.

Some hints:
I keep my FO4 (loves it with my mod selection) and made a parallel FO-London. Becaus of the stupid folder constrution (plugin.txt) two users are needed! (In early games, save- and config-folder were in game folders.- Which was an intelligent thinking!)

Two Fallout 4 installations
- user1: "Fallout 4" (German)
- user2: "Fallout 4" (English) renamed after London-install to "Fallout London"

After installing Fallolut London, you must not use the Installer-Starter! Never-No-Never!
Make shortcuts:

user1
Fallout 4: "D:\Games\Fallout 4\f4se_loader.exe" -forcesteamloader

user2
Fallout London: "D:\Games\Fallout London\f4se_loader.exe" -forcesteamloader

replace "D:\Games\" with your path!

Yeah, I agree that it feels too hard on normal difficulty. I was about 7 hours in when I decided to start over on easy. Ammo is scarce and I ripped through almost all that I had collected as the game spiked in difficulty, making it really hard to progress afterwards.

I just hope that easy isn't too easy.
