Fallout: London would probably be loads of fun. But the process for getting this installed and working is unnecessarily tedious and if you use the "suggested" downgrader for fallout 4, it asks for your steam login info which is a huge fuckin no. every other mod out there doesn't require this, why am i giving these random jerkoffs my steam info? Not to mention the downgrader doesn't even work properly, and other options on nexus mods exist that do it better and don't require your steam info. Your options are limited to manually doing everything, from downgrading to installing the mod, which takes forever and honestly isn't worth the time for the unoptimized experience you'll have with the mod. Unless of course you want to buy the game again on GOG which is ridiculous. No way am i paying for the game again just to play this crap.

this mod is "playable" by the lowest standards. Just wait for updates for the current version of Fallout 4 and for it to be all on nexus if you value your time and money.
This again.....

The code for the downgrader can be looked into at github, it only connects to the steam database. Why does it require a login? Because steam servers have to verify that you have a valid certificate to access to the files you want to download.

The downgrader works, it just has problems if your steam installation is already messed up with a ton of mods and other stuff plugged into the basegame game. Delete the steam installation, remove all remains from the directory and reinstall and you should not suffer any problems. There are also manuals available how to do it in the steam console or with a nexus downgrader. No problems if you are capable to follow step by step manuals.

You are not to judge if it´s an unoptimized experience as you seem not to have played it yet, it has bugs but they did not stop me finishing my first over 30 hours playthrough, for a free total conversion it was amazing.

There is no need to buy it again on gog, it´s easier to do it this way as they come already with the required version and as they also host folon for free but it is no requirement.

It will never be on nexus with it´s size, this got already discussed over months and nexus themself sent folon over to gog as their infrastructure was not sufficient enough for a total conversion of over 30 gigabyte.

There is a difference of just blaming around because someone does not like a situation and presenting facts of how to solve them. Folon has flaws, but a lot less as fallout 4 itself so it´s worth a try all the time.

So it appears you gave the "random jerkoffs" your steam info? What does that make you then???

And you obviously don't have the GOG version, so you came to GOG just to whinge like a pro? Life must be sad...

Um no... not really...

Folon is pretty buggy and incomplete. But, hey, I wouldn't expect anything else with a mod of that size.

I was talking about flaws, not bugs. With flaws i meant the repetative gameplay, the boring conversations as well as fallout 4s absolute kindergarten mainstory (for sure, just my point of view). And don´t forget the 2015s style radiant quest every....err....nearly nobody likes.
I agree that Folon does quite a few things better than Fallout 4. As you say, repetitive quests, mediocre story telling and characters, or the interation of Bethesdas "search for a family member which the player doesn't know and probably doesn't care about".

Folon still needs a lot of work though. I just had a problem where I jumped down a railing, because there was a chest and an enemy down there, and I didn't come up again, because, obviously, none of the game designers thought about the player getting up again. So I had to fast travel. That's just one of the more minor thing, I also had issues getting out of specific locations, as the door didn't work, or quest givers not reachable, because they're behind a locked gate, and somehow stand out of reach for activating the talk, or a dog which somehow was teleported to another location, and sat there moaning, as if it was hurt all the time.

Well, it's basically what I expected. The size and ambition of the game is extraordinary big. Maybe a bit smaller would have been better, considering it surely will take the developers years to fix and improve everything now.

Ehm. You can open steam console, post the download lines into it (even all at once), wait for things to get downloaded...
FarManager.com will help you with putting the game back together (ask your dad or grandpa - it looks and works the same way as Norton Commander in DOS times ;) ).
Download Folon, install it "wherever" and then move files to your FO4 folder. Copy some .ini files to proper locations - and you're good to go.

The only screwed up thing with FOLON is updating - the guys just failed to do it right for some reason.
