Fresh install of Fallout 4 Goty from gog, via galaxy, same with Fallout London.

Installed with the instructions on the store page, game starts fine (albeit with initially with wrong resolution, changed via fallout 4's own launcher).

Started new game, watched intro, created character, managed to save and a minute later -> game just closes and I'm back to desktop.

Retried, managed to kill some rats -> game closes again, I'm back to desktop.

Tried limiting fps (as is tradition) to 60, using vsync, no help there. I can seemingly play few minutes at a time until it just CTD's. :/

hardware: R9 5800x3d, rtx3090 (drivers gameready 560.70), 32GB ram, win10.

So, what do?

EDIT: changed to borderless fullscreen, set proper resolution (2560x1440 for my screen) with fallout4's "fallout4launcher.exe" directly, then launching the game with f4se_loader.exe

edit: nope, can't progress anymore. the game just just ctd's immediately. Right after the train, saved, went out for a bit, not loading any save just CTD's. AAAARGH

edit: at this point I have no idea if it's the base game or the mod, but this is unplayable. I can't load a save, that's an immediate ctd once it finishes. :/

edit_desperate: installed and configured the game to run with proton_ge on linux, same deal. ctd's just as much in the same area: after the train. :P

Dang, and I thought I was going to be the "helper" by reccing F4SE. Well I guess some bugs were bound to happen. Mine was crashing every time I tried to exit the station Seb Gaunt sent me to. Reloaded and decided to go off to the Thames for now. The Thamesfolk seem nice, even if they do remind me of Dunmer.

so far I've spent some hours to just talk to Gaunt, and keep getting ctd's left and right. Troubleshot the game quite a bit, found some remedies, but no. CTD CTD CTD and CTD.

Man, I want to play this, but this is unplayable, for me, at least. :/

I have a very similar system to yours, except non x3d 5800. Fresh install of F4GOTY. I have all visual settings maxed, not experiencing any slowdown or other issues, just random crashes.
Random crashes? Reminds me of F3 drm. haha
Played through the tutorial. Then the game started crashing over and over again.

R6 3600, 2070 Super. I had just been playing Fo4 fine so it is definitely not Fo4.
Yeah same here. Once it gets to the train crash, it's crash central. Once it crashed right after trying to load. Then it successfully loaded but crashed again before I managed to walk down that street. Playing with an Radeon RX 6800 XT
Exactly the same issue in that it all worked great until after the train ride intro, after which the game crashes constantly, both during loading and immediately after loading...

Using a nvida geforce rtx 3070 with fresh install of FO4 GOTY.

Will wait a few days with fingers crossed :-)
Can't make any promises, but in my case installing buffout and it's required preloader "SEEM" to greatly mitigate CDT.

well, with buffout -mod it asks me if I want to upload a crashlog. So, that's at least something. :P

no idea to who or where it uploads the crash log, though.

Buffout and Fallout 4 put logs and some other files in Documents>My Games> Fallout 4
The game stopped crashing for me after I installed the recommended mod Buffout 4 on the downgrader mod page
https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4london/mods/1

Buffout 4 on nexus mods

Don't forget to install Buffout 4s dependencies too.
Address Library for F4SE Plugins
and
xSE PluginPreloader F4

I hope this helps you guys too!

This made no difference at all.

Turn graphics settings down. I think this is a known issue with the base game. Ultra turns on features that are buggy.

Edit: Go into the launcher and DISABLE Weapon Debris.

It is a known problem with base Fallout 4.

Did a complete new install of both Fallout 4 without the High res textures and Fallout London and the game is running without crashing for me now.

Hello!

I've been playing around with the various fixing methods, I initially tried the below and mines working fine now.

1) Install the Buffout via Nexus (manual install)

2) Changed graphical options via Fallout 4 GOTY starter prompt (not launching full game)
a) remove motion blur, damage particles,
b) Changed from ultra to high (known bug) as I have 4080 etc

3) copy Buffout/FO London to desktop and change to start as admin

4) remove any traces of FO4 from Steam/unlink previous mods

wasn't crashing as much....and the below ACTUALLY fixed it for me....which a lot of people forget

5) check video card drivers/Geforce etc.....I had an update...did that and the game started working perfectly

hope this helps :)
