BananaJane: Those games are better than indigo prophecy too
That's a matter of opinion and doesn't answer my question. So I'll repeat: why care about graphics?

I have both games and I really don't know how you can think that those games have better graphics than Fahrenheit. Anyways you're comparing apples and oranges. Undying and Alice are action games while Fahrenheit is, despite all the QTEs, an adventure game. It would be more fruitul to compare it to games like Broken Sword 4, Dreamfall and Still Life which are games of the same genre and which are about as old as this one.

Adventure games are all about the story and the story in this one was just bad, and I expect Omikron and Heavy Rain's stories are just as bad.

Many people actually like the story (except the ending, which they find bit stupid), but there's no point of arguing about this. Either you like it or you don't.

My own issues with the game are more with annoying keyboard + mouse controls, QTEs and autosave only system, which makes it impossible to save & quit and force you to replay parts of the chapter unless you manage to finish it before quiting. But nevertheless I like it despite these annoyances, especially the early chapters have nice atmosphere.

Yeah the game starts off great!
But then they make you play basketball and boxing and dance and it really bothers me
Cos it was awesome.
'nough said.
Finally decided to get a copy for myself, I always loved bla-bla-bla game (yes, like Dreamfall ha-ha), also it seemed to have great story, good ratings... will check, you know lot's of my favorite games were criticized, but was a bit saddened about this bad reviews :(

dj-fedos: also it seemed to have great story
That's what I thought until I finished the game as well. The beginning is actually gripping, but it goes downhill somewhere around the halfway mark, getting exponentially worse until it all crashes horribly and dies in a fire.

They planned to make the project into a series. Then it turned out that they could only release one game. All the plot beyond the first few sections was edited and crammed into a single release, turning the story into a downward spiral of an acid trip.
The story is all about supernatural from the beginning so i really wonder why do people freak out so much about this game turning into something of an extreme supernatural mayhem in the end. I know it's a bit rushed and over the top, but at least it's somewhat of an "original" since there aren't many games with such themes because these thing don't sell well as you can see in the examples of games like Beyond good & evil, psychonauts and so on, that where a lot different than the majority of videogame stories these days.

I don't think it's the supernatural what makes people to freak out, but certain aspects in the story which make very little sense. In this thread people discuss in detail which aspects in the plot annoyed them:

My personal view is that while the game is good and I like it, the plot isn't perfect. It starts great, but it doesn't carry all the way through and the end game is bit disappointing.

I really enjoyed it.
The first 2/3 of the game it has incredible atmosphere, and the story is really nice. I personally enjoyed even the ... matrixlike fights. The ending was kinda weird I'll give you that. What disappointed me the most about story was *SPOILER* when Carla told to Lucas "I love you Lucas", I was like "WHAT THE F*CK???", She knew nothing about him, just that he is the killer, even thou, he wasn't the real murdered, but still. Why did they do that? *SPOILER ENDS*

Other than that, I think the camera is absolutely terrible. And at the beginning because of the camera I had really huge problems with controlling the character. And the time limited scenes were hell because of the camera through the whole game.

BUT! It has GREAT ATMOSPHERE, nice story for most part, great interesting characters. I even liked the graphic quality, I think that it still is nice game after all these years.

QTE were problem for me at the beginning but after first couple of hours it wasn't problem any more, actually quite the opposite, I think they add something to the game. It was really thrilling when you had to press the correct key in order to "survive", over and over again. One problem with QTE was that, sometimes they were too long, especially the dancing, basketball, boxing, just the stuff that nobody really cared for.

Still, I'm glad that I bought it and finally played it. And I will play it again.

The game is very good, not great.
I just wanted it to be a bit more longer. I finished it in one day!

A "Fahrenheit 2" would be great.
This game is really good. Though it might not be your usual FPS or RPG , this game is like an interactive book that changes its story with each of your actions. This is the game that made Quantic Dream famous for their way to tell a story. If you enjoyed Heavy Rain , then this is pretty much a pointless question.

Quantic Dream said they dislike making sequels. There will be no sequel for Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy.

I liked the game very much. I also had no problems with the ending, can't understand why people have a problem with it.
