I've only played the PS2 version, and to be honest I can't imagine playing without analog sticks.

Do the controls work well with the keyboard/mouse? does this game support controllers?

I played Indigo Prophecy with my Logitech twin stick gamepad and it worked like a charm. No problems with calibration or detection, and all buttons are configurable. This is one of those wonderful PC games that works great with every gamepad I've thrown at it and doesn't demand a ludicrously overpriced Xbox 360 gamepad.

I've heard the game is playable with mouse and keyboard, but you've played the PS2 version so you know better than anyone how immersive the game becomes when you play with twin sticks. Why play any other way?

Thanks for letting us know that the PC version does indeed work with gamepads. I owned the PS2 version (which I recently traded away) and I also can't imagine playing this with a keyboard and mouse. Actually, I can imagine because I did play the PC demo years ago with that setup and... UGH. This is a gamepad game, period (in my mind). :)

In this release we include a game save with the finished game, because if you have a finished game save you are given a lot of additional content in the game (soundtracks, minigames, cinematics), but we’re afraid that the PC version of Fahrenheit has no support for game pads, so you’ll have to stick your mouse and keyboard to experience this great adventure.

WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS?? The non-GOG PC version of Fahrenheit has gamepad support!

I would love to know if anyone has purchased the GoG version of Fahrenheit (not the non-GoG, or Indigo Prophecy versions) and used a gamepad.

I have played the PS2 version (Indigo Prophecy) and this is a console game at its core. A mouse/keyboard would not suite it very well.

"no support" and "works anyway with the following..." are two different things ;)

I bought the GOG version this morning and will test it when I'm home from work.

The issue is that modern pads don't work with Fahrenheit, but the old ones do. A good indicator are analogue shoulder buttons (don't quote me here, that's just a guess on my side).

I played through the game with mouse/keyboard back when it was releases and it was possible. You get used to it very fast. I've even read from people that they preferred the mouse/keyboard over gamepad.

It won't recognize the right stick on 360 wireless pad, gonna try my old Logitech Rumblepad 2 now.

Edit: The Logitech pad works fine, but I had to reinstall the game, because it seems it liked my 360 pad so much, it refused to start without the pad switched on! If only it liked it's right stick too, heh.

Edit 2: The vibration works too!

I can confirm that my Logitech Rumblepad 2 works perfectly but my wife's wired Xbox 360 pad does not recognize the right stick.

If anyone has a fix, I'm all ears! My wife loves this game twice as much as I do and that's saying a lot!

I got it working back when I played it by using XBCD. It can be tricky to get working(it was for me, at least), but once it's set up games will recognise it as a normal gamepad. The triggers can be set as buttons instead, which makes things easier. One thing I've noticed is that games that don't officially support the 360 gamepad never detect that it has vibration, but XBCD fixes that too. It might take a lot of messing around(try different versions of the drivers with the latest software), but it's worth it.

When I played Fahrenheit a few years ago, I played it with keyboard and mouse and it worked very well overall. Movements with the mouse (when you have to choose an action) are recognised easily and for the QTEs I just configured my keyboard so that the left part of the QTEs was controlled by WASD keys and the right part by the arrow keys. First that may seem awkward but after a few moments of getting used to it, it worked like a charm.

I played it on my keyboard when it came out.

The mouse worked fine for the gestures that you use in the game (like with the joysticks).

Keys worked fine with QTE's as well, it was no problme once you do it a little bit.

I haven't tried it on 7 yet, but I did a little Googling and it looks like running it in compatibility mode should work fine.
