I've seen people play and complain about how the mouse is relative your view or movement which makes me hesitate to purchase this game. Is there a solution?

I use a joypad without any problems. Just take your time and learn how your character moves, and you'll be fine.
It's a fun game, IMO. Mindless, fun shoot-em-up that plays like a cross between Robotron 2084 and Super Smash TV. Bosses are tough, but fair. Many things go BOOM, make Hulk happy. :)
I'm not sure how it works on a joypad but it's the whole relative movement towards when you move, hard to explain really. Anyway, seeing as how it's a very arcady game maybe a controller with the right settings is sufficient.

If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, I found a demo on Cnet. For me, the gamepad works fine; it just took about 8-10 mins to get used to it, with another 20-30 mins for it to become second nature. The demo will hopefully let you try out different ways to move (keyboard, mouse, joy) before buying.

Cheers!
Thanks! I'll try with my Wii CC.

When I got my system checked out after my thread yesterday (remember that thread!?) I went WASD + Mouse but turned the mouse WAAAAAAY down in the setup screen. Ten minutes of running into walls and misfiring later I finally got the hang of it and started kicking ass. Only problem is I'm no good with anything timed and that's fucking with me. Even if the game gave me 20 minutes I'd still run out. :P
I tried the demo with the controller and it was a b*tch trying to get some kind of system where you can move correctly, aim and shoot at the same time but I think I figured it out. If I buy this later I'll definitely play with a controller.

To get the controller working I used Xpadder too as fiddling with my controller and default settings never work well, most games don't recognize it.
