A combat I have entered says I have to get everyone to the "victory zone." I see no clearly marked area on the map. What is this? Sadly, there is no mention of it in the manual. Also, I find the camera angles in combat to be very bad. Is there any way to zoom out farther?

No way to zoom out. But perhaps you can scroll past the edge of the map? There should be an area you have to move to though.
Which combat is it?
It was just a random encounter. How would such a zone be marked? It's a shame about camera controls. Not having a good view of the battlefield is kind of ruining that for me.

slightly different coloured hexes on the ground I think. Similar to how the game marks where you can set up at the start. But not sure as it has been a while since I last played.

The "victory hexes" or "escape hexes" will be marked in yellow. The yellow will actually not just be on the hex itself, but will cover the "air" on top of the hex as well (if you know what I mean). They should be at the edge of the map (but which edge - would need to know which battle it is first).

Anyway, when you get to it you should receive a notification that one of your followers has reached an exit/victory hex (I think).

I agree with you about the lack of zoom - stupid design decision right there, and the god-awful scrolling isn't great either. Apparently they're fixing it in the next patch (which should have been out by now, but due to some issues they had to roll back, so should be out soon).
