What do you guys think???
Well which do you like more? DRM or achievements? IF you buy from Gog you will get free items from the pack (manual 5 wallpapers 11 avatars, 60 artworks and one poster)

Or 60 steam achievements with none of that.

Really I would go with Gog but that is just me.

Umm, gog.

If you ask over at the Steam forums, you will probably be told Steam.

GOG obviously.

Now why is that, I wonder? ;-p

*facepalm*

This is as flamebaitish here as it was on the Steam forums to be honest. You don't give us any insight into what your motivations are whatsoever, how are we supposed to know where you should buy it? People who prefer GOG will say GOG, people who prefer Steam will say Steam.

You could at least ask what the differences between the two are or whether the Steam version has DRM or ... well, you know, something relevant and factual rather than something completely subjective.
For me it was a clear choice:

GOG: Fair price. (£12.99)
Steam: Literal price (£16.99)

I'm not bothered about DRM but it all comes down to the price and £4 is a big difference for me.
Gamers Gate has it effectively $2 cheaper and DRM free (code + blue coins) so if I decide to get it I'll probably get it from there.

Given the choice I would always choose GOG over Steam if the price were exactly the same though. I like actually owning my games instead of "long term renting" them and the extras GOG throws in are kind of cool.

I'm trying to decide whether this game is worth getting now though. I don't usually buy games on release day but this one does look pretty cool.
Iridescence92: Hands-On with the devs: Enter "Expeditions: Conquistador gameplay with developer Logic Artists" in youtube. Can't post the link because this board is stupid.

I've been playing many PC games for many decades, but this is in my TOP200 of all times.

This gets you easily started, is very deep, but still upholds an optimal interface.

I realize you don't know me from Adam and therefore my opinion is next to worthless. Nonetheless, if you're looking for direction on the subject, I strongly advise purchasing the game. I've gotten a great deal of enjoyment out of it, between the (basically complete) Beta and the commercial release on here. I'm going to avoid derailing the thread further and refrain from listing out all of the pro's and con's and will simply say that if you're the type of gamer who finds this type of game intriguing, it is probably worth the purchase.

Thanks, I did decide to buy it today and am glad I did so far. Reminds me of a good old-school RPG will the way the combat works and the good writing.
Sometimes you are unable to access Steam account and then you can't play almost any of your games that you bought - that's what happened to me recently. I was unable to access my games, because of "not being connected to internet" although I had access to internet. Sometimes steam will not start due to your firewall or anti-vir software, or sometimes you have to change port triggering settings on your router, etc. Anyway steam can easily upset you in the long run. I just wish there would be more new, good and shiny games on gog like XCOM or Fallout New Vegas.
if you only use windows or mac then gog, linux users have the choice of desura or steam for linux only.
GoG really needs to launch a linux section . most of the new games they debut here already have linux versions but its ends up with valve getting my money.
