slackmg: Just in case this may help someone else having an unreal crash at startup after updating to v1.4.
I ended up uninstalling the game, including having to nuke game saves, then did the install again. After this, was able to have the game start and was able to start playing again. Not sure why the update failed over the top of 1.3, but happy now the game is running again. Note, I did not lose much, hadn't really done much with the game yet so nuking saves wasn't a big deal.
Using Windows 10 21H2, nvidia RTX 2060 w//latest drivers
If you have a copy of the saved games you can simply put them back.
Could you get the hotfix they released 3 days ago? I'm pretty sure my installation is fine, I did check the file, but I can't get this update. Nobody seems to know about that, and it's impossible to get an answer from GOG of course. I don't know if that's just me or the same for everyone.
I only got the last update to 1.4, not that hotfix for the unlocked items.
