Hi,

The game looks promising but you simply have to have an automap in those dungeons. It really is a pain otherwise.

cheers.

An automap is not going to be added. There currently is a compass which helps considerably when trying to navigate and the devs are considering adding pieces of maps you can find and observe but they still wouldn't automatically show your location; you'd have to determine where you were using landmarks and the compass. It's too easy to exploit automaps and the devs want people to actually pay attention to their surroundings. Another thing they'd like to do to help ease navigation is make rooms a bit more diverse and recognizable.
So far, I'm using pen and paper!

I'd say in this game, not having an automap is a brilliant idea. Seeing how much the game relies on players keeping an eye to the environment themselves and making their own notes, automap would make things far too easy.

This game reminds me of Ultima Underworld in that manner and I am very impressed so far.
