Hi everybody i am trying to run Evil genius on Windows XP with a good computer enough to run the game very properly. But, everytime i start it, it crashes. i cant even see the main menu.
Please help me i really wanna play this game

it says solved, but can anyone post the fix to this? i seem to be having the same problem and have contacted tech-support, but have yet to get a responce, i really don't want to have wasted money on a game i can't even play.

It's unlikely there's a single fix and despite boasting about setups, etc, problems like this are almost always machine-specific (worse, they are usually the result of the installed software base, OS version included), requiring a report from the machine and some analysis by a trained eye. Obvious first steps, however, are to try the various compatibility fixes and make sure all drivers are the latest stable version, all OS updates are installed, etc, etc.

I had this problem when I had the World Domination Starter Kit installed, it could be that.

That is not the issue i have the same issue and i have the basic download with nothing added to it. I have waited 5 days for a response. Getting very pissed off about it.

Yea this isn't solved. Maybe for that one guy it is. Thanks for keeping the solution a secret. And now that it's the weekend, I suppose I'm screwed with any support...
I get BSoD whenever I boot the game up. If anyone has solved, please share.

Racer_S actual is a Evil Genius and with his patch can get the game to play i also did the other suff listed here but it was all pointless the res patch has worked wonders just follow the instrustion and bang in what ever res you normal use and off you go the whole thread that i used to get my Evil plans under way is here.

I didn't have the crash myself but was interested in getting the game to run in widescreen and in a window, which is how I came upon Racer_S's patch. Also, being as I used the unofficial patch and the World Domination Pack, I thought that with that many additional steps to get it all running I'd put together some install instructions.

I have been looking for quite some time to get a workaround since I finally got a new computer, AMD Phenom X4. Seems like this game hates multi cores when paired with an nvidia card so try running with only one core. Go to start, type msconfig, open it and go to boot, then advanced options, check the processors box and set it to 1, restart and boom, she finally works again. Hope this helps at least one person who, like me, is in love with this game.

You can write a shortcut or batch file to run the game using only one core, rather than turn off your other cores completely.
