I got smacked around by an outlaw destroyer, and when I went back to homebase for my sweet free repair from the perks I got scammed by Dax! Am I understanding incorrectly how the perk works?

From what I understand this perk should make the cost free if the damage is not below 70%, right?

73% hull integrity (current integrity) to 74% cost 15 credits
Full repair cost is 405 credits

Apologies if this in an known issue OR if I am understanding this incorrectly lol

I think the idea is that you get 30% discount. So instead of paying, let's say 100 credits, you would pay 70 credits.

The perk reads "Free hull repairs up to 30% of the maximum hull hitpoints when docking."
If it was a 30% discount it would say something similar to the first upgrade perk: "Pay only 70% for hull repairs."

Hi Alex,

The perk isn't that powerful. You would be able to repair up to 100% just by repeaditly undocking and re-docking.
The perk should actually works like this:
If player starts docking and current HealtRatio is below 0.3, then set players HealtRatio to 0.3.

But thanks to your question, we've found a small bug there. The health ratio was set to HealtRatio=(HealtRatio+0.3), instead of HealtRatio=0.3.
We'll probably change the text as well, since it really isn't that clear how this perk works.

Maybe overthink these system.
I don't think many people will come with below 0.3 back home, special when you are at other systems anyway.
Mosttimes you use a nanobot as reflex when you are below 0.3, or healed up at some other way.

Maybe say Dax got good connections to most repair facility managers, and you get 10-30% discount at this way.
Or remove the homebase restriction at last.

I didn't go through the entire list, but the perk should work on any dockable station and dockable ship (e.g. flying dutches). Some docking points (e.g. returning Elek to his ship) should be excluded. Maybe, we will add another perk level to increase the amount to 60%, but nothing has been decided there yet.
