Twice now I've gone to sleep to end the day and save the game and the game locks up. Once it happened entering the farm house and this last time using the tent so twice now I've had the game freeze on the black screen with the crescent moon and have ended up losing a lot of progress because of this bug. The save file isn't corrupted as it still loads afterwards but progress isn't being saved because sleep save is hanging. I will try to partially remedy this bug by manual saving before sleeping, or stay on the farm and not sleep at all?

I have been playing quite a lot and haven't had this, but I have noticed the devs have not optimized the Unity Engine so that makes it tend to run hotter. Is your rig running hotter than normal? Has it only happened with the latest patch?

I admit I have a tendency not to rely on the autosaves (sleep save), and I have not slept in the tent, but I have manually saved before sleeping and that has been working fine for me.

Yeah I have noticed the temperature increase, but it's about equal to a few other games I play. Yes I will be making sure to manually save before sleeping from this point on.

same is happening to me.

I have been playing mroe than 45 hours. each time I managed to grab the 10 blue fireflies in the automatic dream during the night then I can not save, either automatically or manually..
what a pain ... The more updates the more problems are raising IMHO

Edit : It seems I found a workaround. The Autosave or Save bug only seems to trigger after sleeping in the tent ?
So going back to the farm and sleeping there (not in the tree house) seems to allow to save again. Only time will tell if I can use the tent again or not

I think you are right. I have not slept in the tent or treehouse and have not had this bug. (I use most nights updating the farm, crafting, cutting grass, tending animals, etc. unless I need to dream to advance the story or a quest.) Over at Valve's shop the devs have posted asking for save games to try to track down this bug.

Also NOTE: There is a new bug in the 3.703.1346 Update which nulls the Chicken Coop from registering for the chickens and perches, It is as if the Chicken Coop wasn't there, and replacing it or even making a new one does not fix it.

The save problem occurs only when a dream is awaiting for you if you sleep in the tent or in the treehouse. To refine a little bit more what I wrote yesterday, I managed to get around the problem by saving just before sleeping , then go sleep at the main house , then the dream waiting for me happens and sometime I can save after or I hit the bug. It depends it s not a 100% certainty but I progressed anyway on my 2 different savegame for both my twins :-)

Yes I read at steam forum for the Chicken Coop crazyness, thanks for the reminder ! Hopefully they will fix this.

I had the saving bug from day one on one of my twins savegame and not for the other due to the sleep I took in the tent for an automatic dream, I avoided to do it for the other twin and it worked that is how I found out. But with last update it happened on both savegame.... Anyway. Hopefully they will narrow the issue. It has to do with sleeping during a dream that was not started with the lottery....or may be just sleeping who knows
