NovHak: iirc, the game is very portable and can be moved on a USB key, which means if you can't run the install via Wine, you still can copy the installation directory from a Windows system to Linux just fine.
I did this, but to get it to work you also need to find and copy these windows system files into the game directory, or it won't work:
d3dx9_36.dll
d3dxof.dll
msvcp60.dll
I copied it from the USB to a folder on the desktop in Linux (I use MX Linux). Then I installed Lutris and added it to the game library there. Disable both 'DXVK/VKD3D' and 'Prefer System Libraries' in the game configure applet.
The game runs fine - visually and sound-wise, but the music doesn't play. This issue is also present in Victoria 2, Sengoku and Rome Gold.
