I found a copy of Etherlords Anthology at a local outlet store (published by UIEG under the Explosive label). I had never heard of the games before, but the description on the packaging (and that it was a sealed copy for $3) intrigued me and I picked it up. First off the games are a lot of fun. I can see why they are described as a fusion of Magic: The Gathering and HoMM (same developers did HoMM 5). I found it hilarious that the PDF manuals came directly from ReplacementDocs.com (still had their logo on them).

I did experience a crash with Etherlords 1, and I just wanted to know what the GOG shortcuts are set to in the Compatibility tab for both game. Also, the configuration utility for Etherlords 2 is in German, and while I can kind of guess what the settings are, if the GOG version is in English, I would really appreciate a screenshot so I can make sure what settings are what.

Thanks for any help you can offer. =)

The shortcuts don't have any compatibility settings by default. If it doesn't run, try compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 and if you've installed it into Program Files it might help to run the game as Administrator. Better install it in a custom location like C:\Games\

Btw, you could download the game's demo in English (e.g here) and replace your configuration tool with the one from the demo. It's pretty like it'll work, but make a backup of your version first.

Thanks, DeMignon. I will try the config from the demo. Thankfully, the actual game is in English, heh.

As for the games, they are installed in C:\Games and run okay. Just had the one crash and was curious if there were any compatibility settings I needed to be aware of. Sounds more like a "random crash is random" issue, as I was able to complete the mission with no crashes last night.

Thanks again.

Just as an update, the configuration utility from the demo still shows German text when copied into the full game's folder, so it's reading from a resource file somewhere. Still, thanks for the English screenshot. That was pretty helpful. =)
