Hello, fellow adventurers!

This is where you can make new feature suggestions for Epic Tavern! Here is how it works:

1) If you have an awesome idea, let us know by posting your idea in this forum!

2) As we get feedback from fans on which gameplay goals are most important/desired, we will track those ideas, and we will discuss various features which may help accomplish them. Likewise, we will consider any new feature adds in the terms of how they will impact these goals, either positively, or negatively.

3) We will add those considered ideas on our online Trello Road Map board:

https://trello.com/b/NpdJRcOi/epic-tavern-feature-request-board

We have enabled voting on this board, and encourage you to up vote the things you'd like to see improved or expanded sooner rather than later. While you can vote on as many goals as you wish, we encourage keeping it to just a couple goals per person, since flagging everything as important, effectively flags nothing.

We cannot wait to read your ideas and suggestions!

From everyone here at the Tavern,

CHEERS!

I just invented this game myself a couple days ago. I was going to call it "Adventure Town" and when your adventurers retire, they build new buildings in town, that's the only way the adventure-based economy can expand. But, of course, the building you start with is a tavern. Sometimes, instead of retiring, adventurers go evil and create, new high-level dungeons for younger adventurers to explore. I was going to have old fighters retire and become blacksmiths and do crafting like that. Retired adventurers living in town also attract younger adventurers who want to learn from them. But probably the biggest difference was my quest system was going to involve x-com-like tactical combat. Any chance you guys will put something like that in your final game?

Hey, blainedeyoung! Great minds think alike, amirite? ;)

I do like your idea on having retired adventurers having an impact on the world around them; really cool! Currently, the way we handle adventurers and questing won't be deviating too far from where it is currently at (meaning, we want to focus heavily on managing the characters and teams, and focus heavily on the deep narrative), however, we do plan on expanding on those two things. Our game, while a sort of simulator, is less of a tycoon game and more of a management RPG game (if that makes sense).

I should bother our writer Shawn to write some quests about a great adventurer who had retired after the battle with the Netherkin, and how your adventurers need their help once more, and take them out of retirement for good :D

Keep the awesome ideas coming! Thank you so much!

We don't seem to have a questions about the game forum, so I'll just post this here because I'm requesting a game feature that will explain why and when and how much I should spend my action points asking adventurers about their lives. Is there any benefit in doing that?

Hey, blainedeyoung! No worries, feel free to ask any question you like! As far as the current state of the game, the action points are used to help the patrons in the tavern and keep your business running smoothly. As far as the "why should I be using these points" - that is a great question. It is our hopes that we will turn the heat up and increase the motivation and pressure on the player to really make calculated decisions on where you want to spend your points. (To put it simply, make it harder). For example, if you only have 10 points to spend, and there are 20 opportunities to spend points, you'll be more careful about spending your points on things that might not necessarily keep your tavern afloat, etc.

In addition, we want to increase the want to talk to the patrons both because they're engaging characters, and because you as a tavernmaster want to keep everyone happy in your establishment.

Please let me know if this answers your question! Don't hesitate in asking more questions should you have more :)

Well, I want to spend my action points selling food and drink, right? My motivation to spend action points is clear. What isn't clear is why I would spend them doing anything other than selling food and drink, in particular getting people's personal histories. It seems like that ought to boost your relationship with them.

Hey, blainedeyoung! Currently, when you do talk to patrons that want to reveal a personal story with you, and you use your AP, it'll increase your friendship with them. This can be viewed in the character info panel when clicking on them, right below "History & Bio" is their Frienship level. :)
Hi,
will the game also be available in other languages? German for example?

Hey, Angeal! We would love for Epic Tavern to be available in many different languages, including German. As far as when that will happen, I do not have an answer for that, but we definitely want to have it available in the future! We'll keep everyone posted on all things localization. Thank you for posting! :)
Greetings from Germany.

Wish you a healthy and wealthy new year. May your Tavern be Epic!

On my first playtrough:

-what about selling/buying items or consumables. Would be cool to have items to manipulate a roll (or get that damn+1 to get a success). So you could also spent your tavern gold for some shiny new weapons.
-More Tavern events like a broken entrance door resulting in an repair an an side quest to get a better door with iron hinges....
-More "build over Time" fortifications for your tavern like new windos, better Tables/chairs... wouldnt it be awesome to get an Ivory Throne for your Fireplace?
-an Upgrade for "autotrain" new Recruits

Get also the bug with doubling Party Powers when 2 Partys roaming around.

And at last: Can someone explain the rolling system "agressive" or "Defensiv" ?

... and more optical items to make it YOUR Epic Tavern:

-Carpents, some sort of different floorings ... items to waste your money an make it Epic Looking.

-Trophies from your Quest like a "Troll Head" or a Weapon Rack for your Epic Weapons ...
with a sign on it:: No Weapons inside allowed...

Hey, @Quardak! No worries - great minds think alike :) I love the chair by the fireplace idea, that would look really cool! I also think the "No Weapons Allowed" sign is hilarious.

The Aggressive and Defensive stances can increase your chances on success depending on the characters' skills and likelihood of succeeding the quest you are on. If you set your character to aggressive, their defense goes down and they're likelihood of getting hurt increases, but their chances on succeeding increases. In the defensive stance, the defense is increased and the likelihood of them getting hurt in the quest decreases, but their rolls don't get a boost. We are still adjusting this system, including the messaging, so stay tuned for updates on that.

The display bug when multiple parties quest is a known bug, and assigned to a dev as ET-1400.

Thank you for posting! Feel free to join us on our Discord server if you have any additional questions: http://www.discord.gg/epictavern :)
Maybe this is just me but it seems like the rolls in the game a little to harsh. I have had many times where my party has a combined power of 70 or more and all of them get 0 from bad rolls making me fail a difficulty 15 or 20 encounter. I understand that it is a possibilty and even think the idea of the -5 if disaterous rolls is a nice touch, but i feel the rolls either need to be less true random ( have a check if party power is 4x needed power then decrease chance of failure or if rolled 3 bad rolls in a row (my record is I think 9 zeros in a row) give bonus to final roll this would also make balancing the team more vital rather then relying on one high power character) or possibly have another possiblity of half or quarter power on top of the current choices for the outcome (heroic , normal, excellent, disasterous) so that if you roll close to a passing roll you don't just instantly fail. I don't know just my opinion but i still really enjoy this game and want to say Good job and looking forward to next update.

Hello, just got this the other day and really like it!!

In case these ideas haven't come up:
Ability to hire a bard to play different music or have more than the one song while in the tavern and traveling/questing?
Can the speed of scrolling the map be increased or have an option to be able to adjust how fast it scrolls? It's so slow right now.
I only have characters at level 5 and 6 right now, so I'm not sure this will show up as I progress, but what about the ability to buy/sell equipment?

I'm really loving the stories and quests. Just did the Blackthorn haunted manor, loved it the Scooby Doo reference!

Keep on keeping on!!

Hey, chaoszm! The numbers are definitely a work-in-progress, so I'll be sure to let the designers know! I'm happy to hear you are enjoying the game :) Thanks a bunch!

Hey, drakkar68! Thank you for the kind words :) I do like the ideas you present, and while some have been mentioned before, that just means great minds think alike. As far as the scrolling, you mean the scroll speed of the quest dialogue box, right? I know that needs to be adjusted. As far as equipment, we do have plans to rework that system and make it more meaningful in the game - stay tuned for more details! Thanks again for posting, and please feel free to join our Discord channel - we chat on there every day about these kinds of things: http://www.discord.gg/epictavern Hope to chat soon!
