Because of the half off sale price I decided to do some research on this game to see if it would run at all on my integrated graphics chip.
In the process of googling to see if anyone had run it on my specific chip (or possibly a weaker one) I came across the steam listed system requirements.
They are significantly lower than what GOG lists.

GOG:
Minimum system requirements - Windows: 7 / 8 / 10
Processor: 2.0GHz i5 or better
Memory: 4GB RAM
Hard drive space: 600 MB
Graphics: 1 GB of Video RAM

Steam store page:
OS: Windows 7 or later
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6320 (2*1866) or equivalent
Memory: 2 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce 7600 GS (512 MB) or equivalent
Storage: 2 GB available space

Half the ram, half the V-ram.
Whats going on with this? and which are the actual dev supplied requirements?

Its important to me since somthing wanting 4gig + 1 gig vram probably isn't going to run on this craptop, but something wanting 2 gig + 512MB might (depending on the how that specific card rates compared to my integrated chip, something I could find out with enough research.)

(If anyone is curious my chip is an intel HD4000)

System requirements are actually very difficult to test for, so neither of those sets is a hard and fast rule for how the game will run on your system. I'm not clear where each of those lists came from, but I'm guessing one is the min spec and one is the recommended spec.

In our experience, 2 GB of RAM and an HD4000 are both pushed pretty hard by our game; we've run on systems like that before, and it's playable, but you'll need to turn lighting and shader quality down and probably wont get 60 fps consistently. Even though Gungeon is a pixel art game, we use some modern rendering techniques to create this visual style (the game is actually 3D and created in a 3D engine).

Thanks for the response, and from a dev no less.

Brings about another question. Is this a game that will slow down when running at less than 60 FPS?

For example, I'm barely able to run mass efffect 3 on this computer, somewhere in the region of 20 FPS, but because of he way its coded it is still running at full speed (just low frames.) Same with Pillars of Eternity.

However I wasn't able to play the game Stealth Inc because when it ran at 45 FPS, it was running in slow motion. It needed the full 60 to run at what appeared to be full speed.

Basically I don't mind low frames, so long as the game still appears to be running at full speed.

Thanks again.

No we handle variable framerates nicely... it should run at the same speed just render fewer than 60 frames in a second.

We've played on 144 hz monitors, and on test machines that could only pull 20 fps, and all of them were still playable!

Good to know, thanks!
