Hey folks,

just read the review about the telemetry, i would like to give a hint how you can prevent the game
to set it back to "default"

after you made the changes you have to write protect the file, so the game can not change it back.
Ofc you have to check after every update patch.

Hope that helps you guys out.
Thanks for the help!

Write protecting that file appears to do nothing. ES2.exe generates the same amount of traffic whether write protection on or off with the appropriate settings or blank. Most likely that file is only being written to and never read for any telemetry function.

Just tell your firewall not to permit incoming or outgoing traffic to/from the game exes.

Of course, but then you are also blocking some of the games core features like achievements and multiplayer.

Blocking certain IP address might be different based on your location but here are the ones I blocked from the application. I'm based in North America.

the write protect of the config file is the alternative
given ofc the game still starts (which it should as GoG version)
but ye, blocking unity in your FW is a sad necessety nowadays *meh*
Only ofc if th devs did not deactivate the telemetry triggers.

Perhaps a silly question, but as you are so specific, I figured I would ask you. Would playing the game in windows in a offline only pc matter to the callouts? Would the Unity engine screw up anything in game or the OS?
