Well...I disagree myself. It was a massive game to produce for it's time. It's not the greatest that is for sure, but it plays on my cheap Asus Eee netbook with the lousy Intel GMA950! Good enough when I'm away from home & it's cheap @ $5.99!!

I think there's a misunderstanding here. Bateluer wrote this opinion for EE3, not EE1 Gold.
Care to explain why its the "Worst Strategy Game Ever?"

Yep, EE3. EE1 and 2 were both very enjoyable games.
Frankly, I never liked the Empire Earth series. I thought 1 and 2 were dull, slow-paced and repetitive, and from what I can tell 3 is hardly any better.

I really wish GOG would pick up Rise of Nations; that was such a better game in practically every way, from the graphics, pacing, audio, mechanics, and basically everything else.

Well, Empire Earth certainly isn't for everyone; sorry to hear it doesn't appeal to you.
Incidentally, I, personally, prefer them to Rise of Nations, which, while indeed a great game (and I wouldn't say I didn't like it), just felt a bit shallow in certain areas to me. (However, the same can't be said about RoN 2, which I enjoyed much more than the original RoN.)

EE3 is one of the most hated games here.
I still can't believe that EE3 is here (pretty bad game indeed). I played EE2 before EE1 and I liked it. Before I thought that EE2 was the best in the series, then I played the EE1 and after that I'm pretty sure that which one is the best. First one of course. :P
